Nearly 300 at barbecue 4-H Club news The following item was sent in too late for publication last week. The first meeting of the new Club course "Taking a look at yourself" was held at the home of leader, Mrs. Micheal O'Shea, on Saturday September 6. The meeting opened with a discussion illustrated by pictures relating to "Appearance, Complexion and Personality," The second meeting was held at the home of Mrs. O'Shea. Mrs, O'Shea led a discussion on the "Little things that count" such as self image and the aspect of outward appearance. Next as a group project the girls gave themselves a manicure. Personals Sympathy is extended to the family, of the late Mrs. Clarence Westman who passed away at Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, September 13. Robertson and Mr. l3ooth Fergus were in Toronto Sunday and Monday where they attended the Presbyterian Conference, Many area residents attended Open House at Crestwood Home on Sunday and were very much impressed with the beauty and work accomplished by the residents there. Clandeboye Ladies ball team played their fourth game against Ailsa Craig and won it. The final game, after each team won two, was very disappointing for the girls. Monday evening Ailsa Craig defeated Clandeboye to the tune of 29-18. At one time in the game the score was 18-2. Oh well, congratulations to the winners and it was a good year for Clandeboye, Mr. & Mrs. W, Scott were in Chatham on Wednesday af- ternoon visiting with Mrs. Elmer (Bertha) Hendrie and Mrs, Bill Downing, Miss Lynn Ross, bride-elect, was honoured at Clandeboye United Church when Mrs. D, Newman, Mrs. G. Cunningham, Mrs. N, Skinner and Janis Kestle held a shower for relatives and friends of the bride and groom to be.
