The Granton Cub Pack are
back in action, after the holidays.
Plans were made to join the
Kitchener Cubs at a picnic at the
end of the month, Mrs. John
Hariton was welcomed as a new
leader. The scouts hope to get
their meetings underway by next
week.

at barbecue 4-H Club news
The following item was sent in
too late for publication last week.
The first meeting of the new
Club course "Taking a look at
yourself" was held at the home of
leader, Mrs. Micheal O'Shea, on
Saturday September 6. The
meeting opened with a discussion
illustrated by pictures relating to
"Appearance, Complexion and
Personality,"
The second meeting was held at
the home of Mrs. O'Shea.
Mrs, O'Shea led a discussion on
the "Little things that count"
such as self image and the aspect
of outward appearance. Next as a
group project the girls gave
themselves a manicure.

intensive care in St. Joseph's
Hospital and is progressing very
well,

Open House at Crestwood Home
on Sunday and were very much
impressed with the beauty and
work accomplished by the
residents there.
Clandeboye Ladies ball team
played their fourth game against
Ailsa Craig and won it. The final
game, after each team won two,
was very disappointing for the
girls. Monday evening Ailsa
Craig defeated Clandeboye to the
tune of 29-18. At one time in the
game the score was 18-2. Oh well,
congratulations to the winners
and it was a good year for
Clandeboye,
Mr. & Mrs. W, Scott were in
Chatham on Wednesday af-
ternoon visiting with Mrs. Elmer
(Bertha) Hendrie and Mrs, Bill
Downing,

picnic, scheduled for next Sunday

was that the London Conference
was sponsoring a "World Con-
cern" day at St. Johns United
Church, Stratford, on Sunday,
September 21 at 2:00 p.m. Dr.
McClure, a former Moderator
will be the speaker for the
evening service. Bring your
lunch and coffee will be provided
between 5-7 p.m.
At St. Thomas Anglican
Church, Rev. Mary Mills led in
worship, The sermon was taken
from the 1st Chapter of Job and
entitled "The Problem of Pain".
It was announced that the service
of Harvest Thanksgiving would
take place at the 11 a.m. service
next Sunday, September 21.
