SUMMERS Harold Talbot has recently returned from a guided tour by bus to Manitoulin Island and other points of interest en route. Pete McNaughton was the bus driver and Ken Hogg Thorndale was the host guide, The first stop-over was at Victoria Harbor, then on to Parry Sound, and Sudbury, then onto the Island at Little Current, from there, across Manitoulin to South Bay Mouth, and finally by the new Ferry boat to Tobermory and home by way of Port Elgin & Kincardine etc. Funeral of former resident The funeral service for the late Mrs. Frank Dale who passed away at her home in London, was held at the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home in Lucan Tuesday August 12 at 2 p,m, Rev. Mary McInally minister of Granton United Church con- ducted the service. Pallbearers were Kenneth Hodgins, Keith Brown, David Brown, George Acre, Jack Brown, and Don Cornell. Interment was in the Granton Cemetery. Decoration Day on Sunday Sunday was Decoration Day at $..iranton Cemetery. On this oc- casion representatives of the Cemetery Board received relatives as they came to place flowers on the graves. Personals Many local and out-of-town guests attended the Marshall- Wallis wedding Saturday, August 9. The ceremony took place in. Granton United Church with Rev. Mary McInally solemnizing the marriage. Mrs. C.B. Westman and her daughter Mrs. Robt. Morrow were guests at the Bailey-Hoyle wedding in Tillsonburg on Saturday, August 16. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Wallis also attended. Mrs. George Squire is on a few days visit to Mrs. George Mardlin in London, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Summers are spending a few days in Hamilton visiting Mrs. Summers sisters Mrs. Murray Gowland, Mrs. Forbes Powell and Mrs. John Babbidge and their families, Rev. Mary McInally and her guests from Trinidad, yr. & Mrs. Keith Atwell, are vacationing in the ^ Kawartha Lake district. Mrs, Gordon Dann spent a few days with her sister and her husband Mr. & Mrs. Wm. McComb of Ipperwash. Mrs. Frank Beaucage has been tranferred to St. Joseph's Hospital from St. Mary's Memorial, for further treatment, we wish her well. We welcome Mr. & Mrs. Jack Hamilton to Granton who have come to live on King St. from London. Sympathy is extended also to the family of the late Mervin Baker who passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, London on before moving to St. Mary's. Many people from Granton enjoyed the entertainment at Lucan Lion's Club three day Fair, which was a great success, as last year.
