haven't had the opportunity to
learn to swim.
"Why not help them learn to
swim," she wondered. She,
herself was home from
University for the summer and
was looking for something to do,
A simple sign was posted in one
of the store windows stating that
she would be willing to give
lessons for a very nominal fee
each afternoon from Monday to
Fridays. No less than 65 children
from the immediate area have
responded and are thoroughly
enjoying the experience. Five
classes are held each afternoon,
and warm or cool days, the
children come, eager to find the
joy of swimming.
"Let's pretend we're all rag
dolls," Jan Lyn suggests to the
younger ones in the group. Six
little ones at the shallow end of
the pool strive to follow her
example and relax in the
pleasant water, The older ones
practice diving in the deeper end.
Next week Jana Lyn will return
to her studies at the North Texas '
University in Dallas.There her
time will be devoted to the music
and dramatics she is majoring in.
But for 65 little people, there
will remain many happy
memories of not only what they
have learned in the water, but of
someone who was willing to take
time and interest in them, and
share their backyard pool.

Five moves in eight years
would be enough to overwhelm a
lot of people, but banker Bill Cant
seems to be taking it very much
in his stride as he prepares to
move his family to Ailsa Craig,
thus making his fifth move in
eight years.
Former manager, Bill Scott,
left August 15 to become
manager of the Talbot Street
North Branch of the Bank of
Commerce in Essex. In 11 years
he has made some fourteen
moves!
Mr. Cant has spent the past
year in Toronto at the Commerce
Court office in the Credit
Department. Prior to that he was
working in the main office in
Kitchener for two years. He also
worked as head accountant in St.
Thomas for two years and

Anglican-United
The third combined service for
Holy Trinity Anglican and United
congregations was brief owing to
the fact that several members,
the junior choirs and Rev, Ewart
Madden were on the 50th
Anniversary float in the Lions
Club Fair parade.
Mr, Madden continued his
series based on Job, saying that
an antedate or postponement of
judgement could be a personal
and National repentance not just
being sorry but to have a desire
with God's help to change our
lives.
Next Sunday at 11;15 Donna
Walker and Joe Neves will lead in
a service of word and song.
Pentecostal
The young people of the church
as well as friends from Nairn and
surrounding area returned from
a trip to "Jesus 75" held in
Morgantown, Pennsylvania, Rev.
Brewster and John Armitage
drove the group down on the
Church's Sunday School bus.
This rally consisted of musical
groups and well-known speakers
from the U,S, While there the
young people had a chance to be
spiritually uplifted through the
programs and the people they
met there,
The Sunday evening service
was devoted to the testimonies of
the participants in the Jesus 75
rally. The young people taught
some of the songs they had
learned and shared what God had
shown them through the op-
portunity.
Rev. Brewster spoke of the
Gathering unto Jesus which was
the theme of the Rally. He
stated that because of the
closeness of Jesus' return it is
important for us to gather our-
selves and others who do not
know the words of Christ, to
Christ.
The Sunday Morning sermon
filling in for 'him for the services
on the 17th and 24th and Mr.
George Eizenga of Lucan Will be
conducting services for the
remaining Sundays,

Church is vacationing at present
also. The members of the Baptist
Church will be uniting with the
Presbyterian congregation
during his absence, as has been

to arrive sometime this week, to
assist the Rev. F. Ralph with the
Ailsa Craig Trinity Anglican
congregation, He will be residing
at the former home of Fraser
Harris, at Nairn.
Rev, David Brunner is also

was taken from Genesis 49 verse

Jesus 75. When Christians gather
together it is unto Jesus to give
Him glory, worship and praise in
unity. This the congregation did

prayer and song throughout the
service.
