Mrs. Lorne Elliott opened the
Marian Ritchie meeting with the
call to worship, Hymn 93, "0
Worship the King", was sung,
followed by the scripture Luke 5:
16-26, read by Jean Carey.
Grace Kerslake was in charge
of the study book which described
medical missions in India,
Taiwan, Nigeria and Canada,
The roll call was answered with a
verse on power,
Three visits and 10 cards to
shut-ins were counted,
During the business a com-
mittee was appointed to plan the
lunch for August 10 when the
Ritchie family will be present at
the church service to unveil a
plaque in memory of their
parents, the Rev. David and
Marian Ritchie. The, service is to
be conducted by the Rev. James
Ritchie of Killarney, Manitoba.
Mrs. Eldon Allen gave the
topic, "How to live your bonus
years", which pointed out ways
to live a long life, make it in-
teresting, and have faith in
ourselves.
Mrs. Norman Harburn con-
ducted a contest on the books of
the Bible, and the meeting closed
with hymn 254, "All Hail the
Power", and the "Lord's
Prayer".
At the Park
There was lots of action on
Sunday night when Cromarty and
Roys men's softball teams met.
After leading most of the way,
Cromarty came out on the top of
an 18-13 score.
Hibbert South bantam boys
continued their winning streak
.last week by defeating Thames
2Rbad 17-10, Hibbert North 8-5,
and Hurondale, 10-4.

The Induction Service for Rev,
Bruce Pierce was held Friday
evening in Zion United Church,
Rev. Grant Mills, Exeter,
representing the Huron-Perth
Presbytery, led the service.
Rev. Harold Snell, Exeter,
preached the sermon, using as
his text God's words to Joshua
"Be strong and of good courage."
Bev. Cecil Myth, led in
the induction.
Following the service the
congregation greeted the pastor
and his family, then enjoyed a
fellowship hour in the Sunday
School rooms.
Ed Hendrick led in a
programme after lunch had been
served.
Speakers were Rev. C. G.
Westhaver, Ails Craig,
representing the Middlesex
Presbytery, Reg Finkbeiner,
Mrs. Cliff Russell and Ray
Morlock. Doug Lewis, organist,
played several numbers on the
piano.
Sunday morning Rev, Pierce
chose Pnilippians 3 as the
Scriptural base of his first ser-
mon to the congregation.
Special music in song was
provided by a men's quartette,
Wilmar Wein, Ray Morlock,
Claire Schwartz and Gordon
Finkbeiner, Mrs. Finkbeiner
accompanying them.
Flowers in the church were
from the funeral service of
Robert Hilborn,

Robert Bruce Hilborn passed
away suddenly at his late
residence in Orangeville on
Thursday, July 10.
Mr. Hilborn was the husband of
Pauline Feist, and father of
Cathy Hilborn, brother of

Bonnie McPhail has arrived
home after spending two weeks
at Lake Couchiching, north of

representative to the Ontario
Youth Leadership Clinic.
