sermon topic "Commitment of
Life", for the service of worship
in Hensall United Church Sunday
morning. The choir sang the
anthem "Jubilante Amen",
accompanied on the organ by
Mrs. Turkheim. The basket of
flowers were from the funeral of
the late Mrs. Norman Jones.
Next Sunday, June 19 will be

the church in the afternoon of
June 10 Mrs. Erla Coleman
presided and opened the meeting
with a poem entitled "Walking in
the Woodland". Thank you notes
from Mrs. Beck, Shirley Brintnell
and Clara MacDonald were read.

Ontario Fiddler's Contest on
Friday and Saturday night.
Contest chairman Wayne Reid
stated the event attracted over
3,000 persons. Trailers entered
the park. camping ground as
early as Thursday evening,
Gord Elson, Ingersoll won the
prestigious open-class fiddling
competition out of a group of
eight fiddlers,
David Hammond of Dunnville
came in second, with Don Reed,
Sudbury, third,
Other competition winners

step dancing 12 years and under
Robert Reed, Sudbury. Fiddling
12 years and under Nancy
Chissel, 13 Mitchell; Step dancing

to his upper left arm whilehaying
on his farm on Saturday. A lever
on the bale elevator unlocked,
striking him in the arm.
He was taken to South Huron

After a picnic supper, the
president Cecil Pepper presided
for a short meeting. He thanked
all the committees for the work
they had done. It was decided to
hold next year's reunion on the
fourth ,Sunday in June at the
Seaforth park.
Saturday evening's en-
tertainment concluded with
dancing.
Officers for the, 1975-76 term
will remain the same. They are

Taylor; sports committee,
Dalton and Marj Malcolm,

Elmira trip
Members of Hensall WI and
friends enjoyed a bus trip on
Monday to the Mennonite
Community of Elmira. A tour of
some of the important points and
some farms was much enjoyed. • .
Many horses and buggies were
also seen.
They also visited Woodside
National Historic Park in Kit-
chener, the birth place of William
Lyon MacKenzie King, and the
Gay Lea Plant at Seaforth.
