GRANTON
The variety show held in Scout
Hall on. Friday and Saturday
night was very well attended. The
boys and their leaders deserve
credit for such a good per-
formance in their first year of
organization.
The show opened with all
scouts and cubs singing "Who'll
come a-scouting with me" to the
tune of "Waltzing Matilda". This
song was a tribute to the late
Lord Baden Powell, the founder
of the scout movement. This
preceded a history of scouting
given by the boys.
During the evening the
audience was treated to an
opening ceremony of the cub
pack, preparation for hikes, and
camping, by both cubs and
scouts, campfire songs, many
skits, in costume.
The show came to a close in a
finale of dimmed lights and all
the company singing "taps".
Credits go to leaders Doreen
McRobert, Juanita Westman,
Dick Kloss and Eric Chevoncek,
A special thanks to Roberta Kloss
for production, also to Michael
O'Shea who provided the music
for the many songs.
The collection taken on the two
nights was for the Crippled
Children's Fund and scout ex-
penses.

performance was given for all the
cubs and scouts of Perth County,
