Cooper, Kay Hodgert and Ferne
Stewart.

Mary Johns introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Gwyn
Whilsmith of Exeter. Mrs.
Whilsmith told of her trip to the
• Holy Land and showed slides.
Donna Stewart thanked Mrs,
Whilsmith. Mrs. Whilsmith had
several articles on display which
she brought from the Holy Land.
Women's Institute
The Elimville Women's
Institute met Wednesday
evening, May 14 at Elimville
Hall. They entertained the 4-H
girls and their mothers. The
meeting opened with the
"Opening Ode" and "The Mary
Stewart Collect". Mrs. Tom Hern
introduced the guest speaker
Mrs. George Wilson of St. Marys,
the editor of the Federated
News Paper. She showed
slides and spoke of the north.
Mrs. Jud Dykeman thanked her
and presented Mrs. Wilson with a
gift. The Elimville III 4-H club
presented a skit "Your Manners
Are Showing". The 4-11 girls
modelled their blouses they had
made during the recent club
"What Shall I wear".
Mrs. Philip Johns, Mrs.
Howard Pym and Miss Ruth
Skinner presented gifts to the
girls receving county honors.
They were Pam Coward, Bar-
bara Johns, Ena Vander Spek,
Cathy Miller, Denise Fletcher,
Lisa Westcott, Karen Morley and
Kathy Cooper.
Girls receiving provincial
honors were Janet Kerslake, Ann.
Marie Johns, Laura Johns, Joan
Kerslake, Eleanor Johns and
Jane Van Roestel.
Mrs. Bill Routly presented
Mrs. Philip Johns with a gift and
thanked her for her leadership
during the last two years.
The president Mrs. Howard
Pym took the meeting over. The
roll call was answered by "What
4-H and Institute means to me".
The institute will look after the
birthday party at Huronview on
July 16. They decided to cater to
the granduating banquet for
Usborne Central School at
Kirkton Community Centre on
June 24.
Mrs. Emerson Penhale gave a
hospital report and also reported
on the White Paper and Mustard
Report.
Mrs. Pelmet. Skinner reported
on tfuroriview. The meeting was
closed with "The Queen". Lunch
was enjoyed by all.
Two join church
Pentecost was observed
Sunday in the. United Church.
Two new members joined the
church on Profession of Faith.
The two girls, Kathy Cooper and
Cheryl Traquair, were presented
for confirmation by the clerk of
session, Mr. Squire Herdman.
Each girl received a gold
necklace and was welcomed by
the minister, session and later by
all the members of the
congregation.
