Mrs. Larry Hem welcomed
twenty-three ladies of Court
Valentine C.O.F. and District
Deputy Mrs. Phyllis Galbraith to
a delicious dinner in the banquet
room at the Bavarian Inn,
Westmount Mall, London, on
Monday evening April 21.
Following the dinner Elsie
Dann organized some contests.
Prize winners were, Marjorie
Mills, for a guessing contest,
Margaret Spence for a numbers
game, Florence McRobert for
having a wedding anniversary
nearest that day, Phyllis
Galbraith for having the most
interesting article in her purse
and Marjorie Mills for having a
picture under her place mat.
Each member was given $2.00
towards the price of her dinner, it
was agreed that this would be
given for Cancer Research,
Money from a fruit and nut loaf
which was raffled and won by
Eileen Summers and the fine
money for not wearing a forester
emblem also went for Cancer.
A vote .of thanks was given to
the committee and all who helped
to make the evening a success.
President Sandra Hem con-
ducted a short business meeting,
and read a letter she had
received in connection with the
new Country Playhouse at Grand
Bend. The contents were
discussed, and it was decided to
sell tickets and get a busload to
attend a play at a later date.
Edith Yougson agreed to let her
name stand as a candidate for
District Deputy, on the •
resignation of Phyllis Galbraith,
who is now the new president of
The Western Ontario Provincial
Assembly.
Junior Farmers' euchre
The Edgewood Junior Farmers
held a euchre at the Mason's hall
on Friday night.
Prize winners were, ladies high
score Mrs. Charles McRobert,
lone hands Mrs. Wm Thomson,
men's high score William
Thomson, lone hands Roy
McRobert, low score lady or man
Tom Harlton.
The prizes were very kindly
donated by local merchants.

At the United Church Rev.
Mary Mcinally based her sermon
on the scripture lesson Mark 5:
21-34.

It was announced that there
was an urgent need for new
leaders for the explorers and
C.G.I.T. in September.
St. Thomas Anglican
Rev. R, N. Savary conducted
the early morning service at the
Anglican Church.
The text for his sermon was
"The Rich man and the Beggar".
Next Sunday was designated as
Sharing Sunday, and envelopes
were distributed for con-
tributions to the needy countries
of the world.

Hospital as a result of a fall.
