By MRS. E. SUMMERS
The worst April fool's joke to be
played on the Village of Granton
and area, was Wednesday's ice
and snow storm. The blackout of
power lasted until Friday noon.
Fortunate were those people that
had fireplaces or other forms of
substitute heat.
It is at a time such as this, that
true neighborliness is shown.
Those without heat were
welcomed to the homes of those
who had.
Anglican Church
At the Anlican church Rev.
R.N. Savary adminstered Holy
Communion and based his ser-
mon on the Gospel of St. John: 20.
Flowers were placed in the
church in meory of Mrs. James
Bryan, Morning Prayer will be
observed next Sunday at 9:30
a.m
United Church
At the United Church the at-
tendance was good, in spite of
road conditions, owing to the
recent storm. As it was Daffodil
Sunday, the bulletins with the
"Cancer can be Beaten" inserts
were used.
Rev, Mary McInally's sermon
was entitled "The Way" and was
taken from the Gosepl of St. John
14:6
Flowers in the church were
placed there in memory of Mrs,
James Bryan.
