United Church notes
Rev. Don Beck preached the
sermon "God's surprises" for the
Palm Sunday service in Hensall
United Church on Sunday mor-
ning. The choir sang the anthem
"liosannah, hosannah, to Christ
our king", accompanied on the
organ by Mrs. Turkheim,
The Maundy Thursday service
will be held on March 27 at 7:30
p.m., when the sacrament of Holy
Communion will be held for both
the Hensall and Chiselhurst
congregations.
Sunday, March 30 at 6:30 a.m.
will be an Easter sunrise service,
and at 11 a.m. the Celebration of
Easter service will be held in the
Hensall United Church, and at 1
p.m. in the Chiselhurst Church.

in the United Church on Sunday
morning,
There will be a service in the
church on Good Friday at 7.30
p.m.
On Easter Sunday, communion
will be observed and the choir
will provide special music for the
Easter service.

Mock wedding performed
The Elimville and Winchelsea
communities held a shower at the
Elimville United church on
Thursday evening for Joyce
Kerslake. Laura Johns escorted
Joyce to her beautifully
decorated chair.
A hippi-mock wedding was
performed by Carol Allen, Mary
Johns, Kathy Cooper, Elaine and
Margaret Pym. Mrs. Janice
Webber read the address and
many gifts were presented to
Joyce.
Others taking part in the
program were Helen Batten, Lois
Johns, Joan Pym, Joan Lynn,
Mrs. Sandra Rowe, Mrs. Janet
Coward and Mrs. Gladys Skin-
ner.
Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Fulton visited
with her parents Mr, & Mrs.
Reuben Pehlke of Monkton on
Friday evening.
Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Johnston
and family of Lucan and Helen
Warren of London visited Sunday
at the regular meeting of the
CGIT on Tuesday evening the
girls worked on Crafts. They also
made final plans for the bazaar
and tea to be held in the
schoolroom of the United Church
on Saturday, March 29 from 2 to 5
p.m.

& Mrs. Norman Lewis were in
charge of the euchre party in the
Community Centre on Monday
night.

St. Paul's ACW
HENSALL
The regular meeting of the St.
Paul's ACW was held Thursday
afternoon at the home of Mrs. F.
Forrest. The president Mrs.
Anderson opened the meeting
with everyone taking part in the
Litany.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and approved. The roll
call was answered by a Biblical
"time" verse. It was decided to
pack a bale at the next meeting.
The study book "Meet criticism
with serenity" was given by
Helen Roberts. Discussions and
ways of making money were
discussed.
The Annual Diocesian Council
meeting will be held on May 1 in
London. The president an-
nounced the deanery meeting in
Stratford on April 16. A piano
instrumental by Sandra McCurdy
was much enjoyed.

the mortgage" was presented by
Margaret Hoggarth, Grace
Drummond, Mona .Alciardiee t.
Helen Parsons and Marg Con-
nolly, Mary Broadfoot led in a
dance session.
Mrs. R, Kinsman gave the
Family and Consumers Affairs
report. Members answered the
roll call by naming a favourite
old time dance and introducing
their guests

business portion of the meeting
