their Christmas meeting Wed-
nesday evening in the Com-
munity Hall, Roll call was an-
swered by "A Community
Concern or Need."
The president, Mrs. Cliff
Kenney, thanked the group
responsible for the preparation of
the Senior Citizen's banquet.
Mrs. Gerald Dearing reported
the South Huron Board meeting
held at Hensall. It was decided to
continue the custom of assigning
mystery sisters and of holding
three euchre parties during the
winter season.
Mrs. Ed Hendrick was in
charge of the program. Suzanne
and Valerie Finkbeiner, Pauline
and Rosemary Gielen sang
several numbers.
Mrs. Ed Lamport developed
the motto "Good Resolutions Are
a Pleasant Crop to Sow." Mrs.

The south Perth District has
purchased and delivered an
organ to the Erland Lee
homestead and each Institute has
been asked to contribute towards
this cost. -
During business it was decided
to hold a progressive euchre
party in the township hall on
Wednesday evening January 22.
Each member is to ask two
couples. Committee named was,
Mrs. Lloyd Miller, Mrs, Charles
Douglas and Mrs. Robert
McCaughey.
Mrs. Harry Reynen gave the
nutrition hint on yogurt. Mrs.
Robert McCaughey delighted
everyone with a piano in-
strumental "Star of the East."
Mrs, Cameron Vivian gave as her
motto "The priceless gift of
Christmas."
Roll call was to name your
secret pal for 1974 and present
, her with a gift , it was answered
by 21 members. Secret pals were
drawn for 1975.

material, which sell for very

The Christmas meeting of the
Womens Institute was held in the
town hall Thursday afternoon
with 16 members present. Roll
call was a Christmas verse or
poem.
The Branch Directors were in
charge of program which was
chaired by Mrs. William Love. A
reading entitled "Jesus not
Santa" was given by Mrs.
Maurice McDonald. Christmas
carols, were sung with Mrs.
Lawrence Curts accompanying
on the piano.
Rev. H.Dobson of the United
Church was guest speaker and
spoke on a "Christmas
message." A reading by Mrs.
Verne Ridley was "The Aroma of
Bethlehem." A poem read by
Mrs.Rosie Grigg "Is His name at
the Top." A reading "Credit
Cards," by Mrs. W. Love and a
poem "Let us live Christmas
every day." by Mrs. A. Hamilton
concluded the program.
Business was dealt with, with
Mrs.Alec Hamilton president
presiding.

A big crowd turned out
. Thursday night when all seats
were filled and standing room
only at Grand Bend public school.
Besides entertainment from the
grade school pupils, the kin-
dergarten and nursery school
children did skits and songs. A
class of 15 did gymnastic exer-
cises.

With the use of effective
lighting the story of the first
Christmas simply, but
beautifully told by the children of
the Sunday School at Trivitt
Memorial Church, on the evening
of December 22.
Set in the chancel of the church,
the pageant progressed from the
prophecy of Isaiah through to the
visit of the Magi at the manger in
Bethlehem.
Tammy Turner was the
narrator and began her narration
with a piece of prose called,
"What is Christmas?"
The pageant was interspersed
by carols by the choir and
congregation, and Mrs. Marilyn
Zivkovic gave a superb rendition
of, "0 Holy Night".
Mrs. Joyce Monteith was the
director and was assisted by Mrs.
Diane Wooden and Mrs. Maud
Connon. Miss ,Marion Treibner
was the guest organist,
Mr. & Mrs. Albert Regier and
Phillip of Huronview, Clinton
visited over the weekend with
Mr. & Mrs. Leo Regier.

There were twelve members

an article on the Christmas Star.
Mrs. Harry Carroll read an
account of the building of St.
Margaret's Church Cape Chin.
Many were very interested
because it was built by a former
rector Canon James.
A Christmas exchange
followed. The hostess assisted by
her mother, Mrs. Anderson,
Exeter served refreshments.
The vote of thanks was moved by

take new name

Wednesday, December 19 the
Dashwood Girls Club held their
Christmas party. Santa Claus
treats were made by the girls
and gifts exchanged.
It was decided by popular vote
to be called the Dependable
Dashwood Girls Club. Friday
before Christmas the girls went
out caroling, returning to Mrs.
Gowanlock's for hot chocolate,
