Sunday School presents concert at Centralia.

CENTRALIA
Ken Hodgins was chairtnan for
the annual Sunday School Con-
cert in the schoolroom of the
United Church on Friday evening
with the various classes con-
tributing numbers to the
program.
Two numbers were presented
by the Senior class, "An
Unscheduled Visit from old Saint
Nick" and "Buckle Puff and
Busy Bees."
A guitar duet - "Jingle Bell
Rock" was played by Robbie
Essery and Daren McFalls. The
beginners class entertained with
recitations and by singing
several Christmas songs,
A recitation "My Grandma"
was given by Marcia Clarke; The
Nativity Pantomime was
presented by the Willing Workers
class. This was followed by a
piano solo "Drummer Boy" by
Pearl Bus‘Vell, A play "The Lost
and Found Christmas" was
presented by the Junior Workers
class,
The Sunday School had,
received a card from their
adopted Indonesian girl, This was
shown and a letter from her was
read. The Bible class sang carols
and Santa arrived to distribute
the treats.
"The Light of the World" was
the subject chosen by Rev, John
Beaton for his Christmas
message in the United Church on
Sunday morning. The service
opened with the singing of
several carols,
Mrs. Russell Wilson led the
singing and there was organ and
piano accompaniment by Mary
Shoebottom and Mrs. Ray Mills.
The choir sang two anthems
and the offertory music was an
organ and piano duet by Mary
Shoebottom and Lois Elliott.
CGIT vesper service
The theme of the CGIT Vesper
service was "Jesus as the Light."
Chris Beaton opened and closed
the service and taking part were
Donna Wilson as first reader and
Darlene Knee as second reader.
They discussed the Light as it is
in our Society.
This was followed by the
Nativity Pageant and taking part
were Lori Cronyn, Teresa Reid,
Barbara Wilson, Wendy and
Debbie. Fields, Robin Preece and
Lynn Cronyn.
The candle lighters were Leah
Preece, Dianne Skinner, Nancy
Tindall, Pauline Overholt and
Karen Dietrich. Linda Wilson,
Ann Beaton and. Mary Lou Tin-
dall each read a poem, The
, service was ended by all C,G,I.T.
members lighting a candle and
proceeding out of the church
singing "Silent Night,"
Visiting away for Christmas

Christmas Thought..
During the business, the cook-
book committee reported that
most the 500 books had been sold,
Mrs. Lloyd Miller recorded 20
cards and 15 visits to shut-ins,
Mrs, Miller gave a reading
"Christmas Was," followed by
the topic , With Good to All, read
by Mrs. J. Carey. Mrs. Tern-
pleman closed the December
meeting with prayer, then
presided for the annual meeting
which followed.
