While in most cases customers will notice an increase in their rates, some customers will experienCe a decrease in their bills. This situation is the result of a .pew method of.billing commer- cial -and pawer, cu'stomers, in ,fij`tufWartge4e 'customers will be billed at the new General Rate. The rate revision is the result of inflationary increases in material purchased by Ontario Hydro, as well as the local Commission. In addition to this, Ontario Hydro is being faced with an ever increasing demand for electricity, and with all major potential water power sites utilized they are required to construct generating stations using other sources of fuel. In order for the Commission to maintain its high standard of service and still meet these rising costs, an overall increase in retail rates of approximately 7.5% is necessary. Although some will notice increases higher than this, other customers will be substantially lower.
