Be lucky
to get gifts
The Christmas
of Santa
By BROOK NADON
Grade 8
McCurdy
Santa has always been a jolly
old man full of cheer. He and his
elves are always working hard to
give you presents. Have you ever
wondered what Santa gets for
Christmas? I have!
I decided' to go to the North
Pole and ask him, He told me
this, "I get no presents and do it
out of the good of my heart." I
saw all the beautiful presents his
elves carved so carefully by
hand. The beautiful gifts brought
tears to my eyes. When it came
time to leave I saw what poor
condition the elves suits and San-
ta's clothes were in,
When I got home I told my wife
about the trip and the clothes. I
asked her if she would mind mak-
ing new clothes. She said she
would be delighted. On Christ-
mas morning I took my wife and
the presents. Santa was delighted
to see me, Santa took me aside
and whispered, "This is the best
Christmas I ever had and the
first time'I got a present.

Bad news for Santa's deer
By TREVOR KOBE
Grade 8
Grand Bend
It was back in the fifties I had
just turned four and our family
had just moved to the Montreal
area.
My mother decided to take me
for a visit with the French Cana-
dian Santa Claus so I could make
my Christmas wish. She had
heard that Santa was going to be
appearing in a shopping mall.
What my mother wasn't coun-
ting on was that Santa could not
speak English. We were patient-
ly standing in line and all the
French Canadians were chatter-
ing away and I didn't have a clue
about what was going on,
Well I finally got my chance to
sit on Santa's knee. Then he says
"ah bonjour," or something like
that.
I said, "huh?"
Santa said, "pardon," or
something like that.
Then I said, "Why don't you
speak English?"
Then he said, "pardon again?"
again.
Then I told him "I wish you
could learn to speak English."
Then he' started talking in
French or whatever language he
speaks.
So I said, "Well then I wish I
could learn to speak your
language.
Later a friend of mine who un-
derstands both languages told
me that Sarita Claus' said I was a
naughty boy who would be lucky
to receive any presents at all.

Oh well it seems that another
Christmas has come. That
means another story. We haven't
got our tree yet but if it's like the
one last year it's just as well. I'd
rewrite last years story if I had it
but I must have misplaced it, I
got an A on it. I found the Easter
story I did but I got a C+ on it
and it doesn't fit my story out-
line. This story has to be done to-
day so I must start.
THE REINDEERS HEAVE!
Come Dasher, come Donner,
come Prancer, come, ok forget;
all of you move your buts. I've
got presents here for twenty-one
billion people. You've been
loafin' around all year. Rudolph
who do you think you are, come
on, you take the lead and light
the way. Forget it! I'll walk.
All that night the reindeer felt
bad about the trouble they caus-
ed. Santa came back at 6:00
o'clock and reported that he had
finis, hed, and that was good news
but the h6d news came when he'
said he had had eight helpers and
that each one receives a reindeer
was unlucky for his master was a
taxidermist. Cupid's master ran
a zoo! Blitzen became a member
of a merry-go-round, for his
master ran a fair. Comet was
ground into detergent. Prancer's
master died so he joined Vixon
and they lived a good life for
their master ran a wild life sanc-
tuary.

When jolly St. Nick gets in his
sleigh
Every creature gets out of his
way.
He flies through the air with
abundance of care
Because every little kid hopes
he'll be there.
He brings new toys for girls and
boys
To make eyes sparkle with
happiness and joy.
When Christmas Eve's over and
the day is done
"Up to bed now, you'll have to
.1 wait, 'little one."
"C"ry, do not fear
because Christmas will come
again next year.
