While. Santa was travell- ing at a speed of 220 MPH over the Arctic two more reindeer froze to death, Only two reindeer left and over a quarter of the Christmas eve in the barn By LIZ SCOTT Grade 7 Usborne Central T'was the night before Christmas And all through the barn, The animals were frantic Though no need for alarm. The waterbowls were hung In the cows stall with care, In hopes that Mare Galloway Would drop from the air. The puppies were snuggled Up, really tight. All ready to sleep For the coming night. The sow in her nightie And the boar in his drawers. Kitties in PJs Slept by the door, Out in the field There arose a great racket They ran to the door To see a Mare in red jacket, Soon, though they saw Eight little white tummies, And found they belonged To eight big black bunnies. They then saw the Mare, Short and stout, Mare Galloways rabbits They'd found out. A merry old thing With dimpled cheeks He hadn't been seen for Fifty-two weeks. Mare gave them the gifts And flew like a kite, Saying "Merry Christmas to all, And to all a good-night!" world to take care of. While they were flying over Toronto they were forced to land at'Toronto International Airport, At Toronto they had only two reindeer to spare. Santa took these and was soon airborne again. When he was flying over Chicago the lead reindeer conked out. Finally he made all his deliveries just as the sun was' coming up over the horizon. San- ta had broken his own world record by flying over half the world with only three reindeer. Now Santa has begun his long hibernation until another hectic Christmas, Extending thanks and a raft of good wishes to all at Christmastide. By CRAIG DEGRAW Usborne On Dec. 2 Santa went out to feed his reindeer, As he fed them he heard someone out back. When he went out to look he saw someone around the reindeer feed. He hollered at the person and the unknown person ran. The next day he went to feed his reindeer one of them was very sick. So that meant that Santa had to make the long journey with only seven reindeer. On he went with seven reindeer. While flying over Africa three more reindeer were bitten by some tse-tse flies and died of the sleeping sickness. A happy cow at Christmas By DAVID KINTS Grade 4 Precious Blood One night somebody came to an inn, They knocked at the door, Someone opened it. The people could not stay at the inn. So they went to a stable near by. There was a cow, horse and some sheep in the stable. The people were Mary and Joseph. Mary was go- ing to have a baby. Joseph and Mary were glad they were going to have a son. Then the time came. Joseph and Mary were so happy. They nam- ed him Jesus. The cow was very sad. Not one person liked him and not one person got milk from him. Then Jesus began to cry. He was thirsty. Mary had an idea She told Joseph her idea. She told Joseph to get milk from the cow. He did. Then Jesus stoped cry- ing. This made the cow, horse and sheep happy. The town was too, Fa Home in Zurich wish seasonal greetings to all and a thank you for your support in the past year. 41 Drawn by Catherine Raymond Pitic)11:1-37.2.;?:e:z.c?4Pit=';?..r'iii=0ximvii:571.•;;,4?.,11tii=4.0z, Grade 6 — Exeter Public School k.,-WInCIn/nInrnin.C.CCrninti;l1C.AIC,CfninC.C.C.(raC.C.OW.C.CCIAIInCinCOICtiitYPACigtrAtre.fgrefetwitoonovilintizi GATE-'Eft' ROUND FOR THESE .41t ski Repairs to All Small Engines HENSALL ogt sgq!.t cgtit?A'sgtv%letztto.144 o??`O 6.5tvilAiltengq1<i'crilttrafttrgtO .c«%i We6 t?.s.5 v:16t74'4.1tFsizNscit111$ tgeOzNI ti:Veriqn Season's Greetings gi From All The Staff ti MAY 1975 BE YOUR BEST YEAR EVER y Jack's Small Thanks For Your Patronage '0,q' tti1.4iitif44i040404 04i Ot4i.6*40.0*Ai tattNi.0:40.4#0'.
