The reason for this was that if they were in costumes they couldn't tell the difference between each other because they wouldn't be wearing their traditional polka dots and stripes. When she was alone, she would sing softly the joyful Christmas hymns she had heard the Williwonkas and the Tinglongoes sing. Now, in the country where Melinda lived there was the Land of the Williwonkas and the Land of the Tinglongoes, These two clans were born enemies and they would never be caught together, They only way to dis- tinguish the difference between them was by their outfits. While the Tinglongoes were clothed merry polka dots the Williwonkas strutted about in bright coloured stripes. Because of her feelings toward Christmas, Melinda cancelled her yearly trip to the cemetary A camera that a kid can use EXETER; ONT. 235-0332 We're sending out wishes, to friends far and near That helps make this Season the best in the year! As she was skipping about the land she discovered a huge old inn which was merely taking up space. She decided that if she fixed it up it would be a heaven on earth, Melinda set about sweeping the floors, dusting the furniture and removing cobwebs from the corners of the ceiling. When her task was completed she wandered in and out the many rooms admiring their beauty. As time passed she stepped into a large high ceilinged room. The floor, walls and ceiling were a golden-brown in colour. When she spied the huge table and the empty corner a fantastic idea entered her mind, This idea was to throw a Christmas party and invite the Tinglongoes and the Williwonkas. Although there was less than two months until Christmas, Melinda began her plans at once, She placed colourful lights on the trees in front of the inn, hung a beautiful wreath on the great wooden door and from corner to corner of the great room she suspended streamers of all colours. The weeks flew by and it was now December 18. Melinda decided that it was time to get a tree. She searched continuously in the forest until she discovered the perfect tree and when she did she chopped it down and took it home. When she arrived at the inn Melinda stood the tree in the cor- ner of the large room. She then trimmed it with strings of pop- corn and candies, also many sparkling ornaments.
