Mr. & Mrs. Byron Brown, Toronto spent last weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Parry Thompson. Mr. & Mrs. Den Ferguson and children of Courtney, British Columbia are spending next four weeks with Mr. & Mrs. Norman Ryan. Mrs. William Patterson, Winnipeg spent a few days last week with her father, Joseph Dietrich and brother Paul Dietrich. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Percival, Sarnia visited Saturday evening with their daughter and family, Mr, & Mrs, Paul Thompson. Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Stacey, London spent the weekend with the latter's parents Mr. & Mrs. Joe Glavin and family. The sympathy of the com- munity goes out to Mr. & Mrs. Jack Hall and family lin the death of Mrs. Theresa (Hall) Radcliffe. Mrs, Radcliffe was buried last week in Detroit, Rev. Father J. Hayes C.S.S.R., Toronto was a weekend guest of Rev. Father John Mooney P,P, and held a Retreat for youth and teenagers. There was a very good attendance. Mrs, Dave McCallum and boys flew back to their home in Alberta this week. Theresa Dietrich visited her father Chas. Dietrich in St. Joseph's Hospital and at home with Mrs. Chas Dietrich and their family. both ways by plane. Twins, Tracy and Trevor Ratz stayed with their grandparents Mr, & Mrs. Ervin Ratz, during their parents trip, James and Edwin Snyder recently attended a Youth Rally at Agincourt Toronto. Jim Somerville, of London, Director of "Compassion of Canada" and London Con- ference Convener for the com- mittee on "Christian Witness" for the U.C. 50th Anniversary Celebrations, was the guest speaker at Lucan United Church at the 11:15 service on Sunday. Mr. Somerville spoke on "500 Million" pointing out most graphically the needs of families and children in many parts of the world, 500 million people are slowly dying of starvation. Money is running out and there is nothing so frustrating as being able to do nothing to help, Mr. Somerville quoted from Isaiah - "He was despised and we did not care". The following members took various parts in the service; Wendy Hearn, reader; con- versation, Ethel Dykeman, Marjorie Dykeman, Brenda Dykeman, Gwen Densmore and Brenda Thompsori, Brenda Dykeman and Kim Weber sang "Morning Has Broken", Wendy Hearn and Marjorie Dykeman sang "What Child is This", and Gwen Densmore and Donna Hodgins sang "Let There be Peace on Earth". The girls lighting the candles were Donna liodgins, Karen Taylor, Janice Burt, Brenda Dykeman and Kim Weber, During the candlelight recessional Karen Taylor and Janice Burt sang "Silent Night". Congratulations to the girls and their leaders for a beautiful service, Pentecostal Holiness The choir from the Christian View Bible School, Toronto, presented a cantata "The Night of Miracles" at the morning service at the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev, Douglas Barton, acted as narrator and also gave the message showing how Christ is the fulfillment of the promised light of the world. Rev, Ray Brewster was in charge of the service and a presentation was made to Mr. Clarence Frost in appreciation of his caring for the Church, Dinner was served to the members of the choir, following the service. In the evening Mr, Brewster spoke from Isaiah 40: 29-31 and specifically "They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength".
