of Canada" and London Con-
ference Convener for the com-
mittee on "Christian Witness"
for the U.C. 50th Anniversary
Celebrations, was the guest
speaker at Lucan United Church
at the 11:15 service on Sunday.
Mr. Somerville spoke on "500
Million" pointing out most
graphically the needs of families
and children in many parts of the
world, 500 million people are
slowly dying of starvation.
Money is running out and there is
nothing so frustrating as being
able to do nothing to help, Mr.
Somerville quoted from Isaiah -
"He was despised and we did not
care".

Pentecostal Holiness
The choir from the Christian
View Bible School, Toronto,
presented a cantata "The Night
of Miracles" at the morning
service at the Pentecostal
Holiness Church. Rev, Douglas
Barton, acted as narrator and
also gave the message showing
how Christ is the fulfillment of
the promised light of the world.
Rev, Ray Brewster was in
charge of the service and a
presentation was made to Mr.
Clarence Frost in appreciation of
his caring for the Church,
Dinner was served to the
members of the choir, following
the service. In the evening Mr,
Brewster spoke from Isaiah 40:
29-31 and specifically "They that
wait on the Lord shall renew their
strength". Joan Lockyer, sang a
solo, accompanying herself on
her guitar,

speakers at the two day weed
conference at the Regina Inn, He
was the representative of George
White Co, who manufactures
weed sprayers. They also stopped
in Winnipeg for a visit, travelling

received a letter from Santa
expressing his appreciation for
being invited to Lucan and area
to visit with the boys and girls, he
also requested he wished the
Lucan Lions Club also be thanked
for their kind invitation.
Santa advised he has received
many letters from the boys and
girls and many personal requests
during his visits and he will do
everything possible to make this
the boys and girls best Christmas
ever.
