Granton .church ladies
have varied meetings

Unit T met at the manse. Mrs.
Elmer Summers unit leader
presided. The theme for the
Worship service was "Hope".
Arrangements were made to
assist the social committee with
serving and donations of food for
a 50th wedding anniversary open
house and dinner, also plans were
made for the annual Christmas
dinner at the General meeting.
Mite boxes were turned in, and
money made from the sale of
occasional and Christmas cards.
In place of a program a play
that is to be presented at the
General meeting was rehearsed.
A delicious Christmas dinner
prepared and served by the
hostess Rev. McInally and Mrs.
Glen Jameson social convener
for the unit was enjoyed.
Unit 3 enjoyed a "Pot Luck"
supper in the church basement.
Invited guests were the husbands
of the members. Plans were
discussed on catering and ser-
ving of a 50th wedding an-
niversary reception and dinner,
also requests from the social
committee for food for the annual
Christmas dinner at the General
meeting. The rest of the evening
was spent playing cards.
Unit 4 met at the home of Mrs.
Gordon Dann. Leader Mrs. Floyd
Dykes presided. The theme of the
meditation was "Hope".
A Christmas prayer was read,
and Roll Call was answered by a
Christmas poem. Everyone
brought a gift for a "Shut In" at
the Komoka Nursing Home.
A family in the community who
had lost their home and
possessions in a fire recently
were remembered by the Unit.
Arrangements were made for
catering to a 50th anniversary
dinner and reception, also to
assist with food for the General
meeting Christmas dinner. Mrs.
James Kerr read a Christmas
story. Refreshments were served
by the hostess assisted by Mrs.
Nelson Tate and Mrs. Henry
Wissel,
The hostess for Unit 5 was
Mrs. Clare Bryan, the leader
Mrs. William Jones presided.
Everyone contributed to the
program, readings were given,
poems read and a record of the
service for the dedication of the
Church organ some years ago
was played.

At the morning service Rev. R.
N. Savary took his text from the
book of Isaiah, and spoke on the
parable of the vineyard. Flowers
were placed in the church in
memory of the late Mr. James
Kelly.
The ladies of the A.C.W. held a
very successful bazaar and tea in
the church hall on. Wednesday
afternoon.
Personals
Mr. & Mrs. Emerson Currah
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary on Saturday,
December 7. An afternoon
reception in the Mason's Hall and
a dinner at night in the Church
basement was given in honor of
Mr. & Mrs. Currah by their
family and catered to by the
U.C.W.
Sean Dinel spent the weekend
with his grandparents Mr. & Mrs.
Stanley Crawford.
Keith Summers was home for
the weekend and visited with his
father, Elmer Summers who is a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
Attending the Currah wedding
anniversary were guests from
Sarnia, Detroit, London,
Camlachie, Hyde Park and St.
Thomas,

A Vesper service presented by
the C.G.I.T, was held in the
United Church on Sunday. All of
the girls took some part in the
service led by Caroline

was purchased with the money
donated by the Explorers.
