Horticultural Society at Kirkton
Woodham Community Centre on
Tuesday evening last when Rev.
Bert and Mrs. Daynard of Staffa
showed pictures and gave a talk
of Russia and Africa where they

was held on Sunday morning. The
theme was "Christmas" Then
and Now - The printed service
was followed with Sylvia Stewart
and Barbara Miller doing the
speaking.
Christmas carols were sung

Stewart at the piano and Agnes
Bray at the organ.

Former resident passes
Residents of the village were
sorry to read of the death in St.
Joseph's Hospital of Vincent
Lassaline aged 30, beloved son of
Mrs. Diana Lassaline of
Goderich, a former resident of
the village. Sympathy is ex-
tended to Mrs. Lassaline and
family in their bereavement.

Mrs. Lorne Hicks was an in-
vited guest at the Korean
Cultural Festival in the Beal
Technical School in London on
Saturday night.

Murdy Funeral Home in Lucan
on Monday evening to pay
respect to the late Mr. Thomas
Quinton of London, a former
resident of the community,

held in the church schoolroom on

ladies are inviting their husbands

Area resident
passes away

SAINTSBURY
The friends in this community
were sad to hear of the passing on
Saturday of the late Thomas
Quinton. He lived in this com-
munity most of his life then
retired to London.
He was a member of St.
Patrick's church. His late wife
the former Mabel Isaac
predeceased him.
He is survived by three sons
William, Hubert and Carroll and
several grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
The funeral was held on
Tuesday from the Murdy Funeral
Home, Lucan. Rev. Reg. Savary
rector of St. Patrick's Church,
Saintsbury officiated.
The ladies of that church
served tea in St. James Church,
Clandeboye where the body was
interred following the service.

In honour of their parents 30th
Wedding Anniversary the family
of Mr. & Mrs. Bernard Rimmer
entertained at Open House on
Sunday afternoon and evening at
their parents home when
relatives, friends and neighbours
called to offer congratulations
and extend best wishes for the

The Rimmer family have been
residents of the village for a
number of years.
Senior Citizens entertained
The United Church Women
entertained about thirty Senior
Citizens to a turkey dinner with
all the trimmings in the Com-
munity Centre on Monday. The
dinner was followed by an af-
ternoon of cards and crokinole,
The prize for the lucky plate was
won by Mrs. Wilfred Huxtable
and Cecil Skinner captured the
lucky chair prize. The afternoon
was a most enjoyable one for
everyone present.
