Among girls, needlework is one
of the most interesting and
beneficial occupations. From the
sewing classes to the sewing-
room, where all the knitting and
seamstress work for the female
side of the hospital is performed,
our girls are graduated and many
of them acquire a remarkable

thoroughness,
We have girls who grade low in

capable of executing the most

The Exeter Figure Skating
Club is now entering its 20th year
and over these years there have
been scores of men and women
who have not only been a part of
the rush and confusion of that
first skating day of the season,
but have worked hard all year
long to make our club the success
it is today.
These include not just mem-
bers of the executive, but many
more - carnival conveners, lunch
committees, fathers who put
together all those carnival props,
and then, a few hours later, took
them all down again, mothers
who have probably tied a hun-
dred different skate laces, and
yes, even those fathers who have
so patiently waited for late
suppers while sons and daughters
had their skating lesson.
They've all helped in their own
way, and without them we
or skaters,

November 11 was our skatathon
day
And by 2 o'clock sharp, they were
well under way.
They- numbered near 80, young,
old, big and small
And they skated for hours - seven
in all.
Their skating indurance was put
to the test
And at the day's end they
deserved a good rest.
Though their legs were all tired
when the day was complete
We had $1,000 they had earned
with their feet
So we thanked all the sponsors,
for the kids did' ove fun.
And also the skaters - for their job
was well done.
Monday, December 16 from
5:00-7:00 p.m. the skating
members of our club are having
their annual Christmas Party.
Santa will be there with treats for
all, but the skaters also have
their Christmas present to, you.
They will be giving us
demonstrations bn badge work,
dances, and jumps, and even a
figure demonstration for all those
who still haven't figured out what
a "patch" is. It should be an
informative as well as fun
evening, everyone's welcome and
' there is no admission charge.
Hope to see you all there!
