prepare Christmas pageant

Wednesday evening members
of Zion United Church held a
Fellowship Night for the
presentation of the 1975 budget.
Following a potluck supper Rev.
Harold Snell led in a worship
service, then conducted the
business meeting for which
Gordon Ratz acted as secretary.
Earl Neil presented the report
of the nominating committee,
Cliff Russell the budget.
Rev. Snell reported that the
Presbytery in its meeting at
Fordwich sustained the call
made to Rev. Bruce Pierce of
Abbey, Saskatchewan.
Don Waters, Parkhill, showed
slides taken in Spain, Morocco,
the Canary Islands and Holland
while he and Mrs, Waters were on
tour with Roy Jewell. Kathy
Russell presented to Mrs. Waters
a gift in appreciation.
Rev. Armin Schlenker closed
the meeting with prayer.
Sunday, Rev. & Mrs, W. C.
Parrott, London, were present at
Zion United Church, Rev. Parrott
conducted the morning service.
Using the story of the burning
bush for background text, he
declared three truths: God is; He
is present; He is anxious to help.
Flowers in the church were
from the funeral of William
Parker. Next Sunday Rev.
Parrott will return as guest
speaker, Sunday School time is
devoted to rehearsal, under Reg
Finkbeiner's direction, of the
Christmas pageant being'
prepared for December 15.

Kathleen Bushfield suffered a
broken leg in an accident at
school last week. After a stay in
University Hospital she has
returned to her home.

for Whalen club

The annual meeting of the
Whalen Community Club will be
held Friday evening at 8:30 in the
Community Centre.
Friday evening guests with Mr,
& Mrs. Gerald Hem were Mr. &
Mrs. Bill Morley, Rob Morley and
Jane Von Roestel, Woodham,
Debbie Kennedy, Ailsa Craig,
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Brock, Exeter,
and Mr. & Mrs. Larry Hern and
boys. They were celebrating Mrs.
Morley's and Gerald Hern's
birthdays.
Bill Morley was in Toronto at
the Poultry Health Conference in
the Skyline Hotel on Wednesday.

visited Saturday evening with
Mr, & Mrs. Heber Davis.
Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Ferguson
were Sunday dinner guests with
Mr. & Mrs. Keith Hern, Zion, to
celebrate Mrs. Ferguson's bir-

Centre Friday evening for Mr. &
Mrs. Joe Hodgins, recent
newlyweds. They were presented
with a pair of table-lamps and a
clock.
Saturday afternoon, open house
was held at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Hugh Adair in honor of
Archie Adair's 90th birthday
anniversary. Friends and
relatives came from near and far
to make this a memorable day for
Mr. Adair.

attended the funeral services for
their cousin Mrs. Mabel Heck in
Bad Axe, Michigan, Friday.
