Jarvis conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday, The choir sang an anthem "Christ Is My Pilot" under the direction of Mrs. Malcolm Dougall, organist. Communion service will be observed on Sunday, December 9. The Centennial Plaque placed on the church was the gift of Mrs. Margaret (MacLaren) Evans of Waterloo in memory of her parents Mr. & Mrs. R. Y. MacLaren and her grandparents Local man passes away George W. Armstrong of Hensall passed away at his residence on Friday, November 22 in his 84th year. He was the husband of the former Jessie Buchanan and father of Mrs. Merlin (Jean) Love, London, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Flear Grand Bend. Also surviving are six grand- children. The funeral service was held at the Bonthron Funeral Chapel, Hensall on Monday, November 25 with Rev. D, Beck officiating. Interment was in Hensall Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug Cook, Gerald Campbell, Sandy Munn, Harold Elder, Ross Corbett and Lloyd Mousseau. Mr. & Mrs. Nelson Hughson, Pilot Mound, Manitoba were guests last week with Mrs. Laird Mickle. Miss Mary Buchanan of Toronto spent the weekend with her sister Mrs. George Arm- strong. By MRS. Broadfoot, Mrs. G. Chapman, Mrs. M. Hoggarth and Mrs, G. Drummond enjoyed a bus trip with the Staffa Women's Institute when they attended the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Stephen McGregor underwent surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital London last week.
