Dinney assisting. The boys have
been cleaning bricks to raise
money. Four new members were
recently admitted: Eugene
Glanville, Paul and David
McVennie and Robert Mitton.

The Kippen UCW held their
November meeting at the home
of Mrs. Emerson Kyle with 18
members present.
Mrs, J, Sinclair was in charge
of the worship and chose a
Remembrance Day theme,
"With Glowing Hearts," The
worship opened by singing, 0
Canada followed by Mrs. Peter
Denys reading the scripture
taken from Deuteronomy. .A
hymn was sung and worship
closed with a reading, "The
Parable of the two Seas."
The topic was taken by Mrs.
Ronald McGregor, who chose a
tape recording entitled, "Jesus
as a Great Teacher," The topic
centred around the many ills of
today such as hunger and
poverty. She emphasized the
teaching of the great prophet
"Amos."
Mrs. David Turner had chat:ge
of the busineis portion of the
meeting,TheRose Report was
given by Mrs, Robert Kinsman
and the treasurers report byMrs.
Peter Denys. An invitation to
Hensall UCW on December 2 was
accepted and it was decided to
respond to a request from
Huronview Auxiliary to donate
suitable gifts toward the
Huronview Christmas Fair for
the residents. Mrs. Alex
McMurtrie reported for the
nominating committee with four
offices yet to be filled, donations
for candy bags and shut-in boxes
are to be left at McLellan's store
by December 6 and volunteers to
prepare and pack the boxes are
Mrs. R. 'Kinsman, Mrs. Ronald
McGregor, Mrs. D. Cooper, Mrs.
R. Broadfoot and Mrs. E.
McLean. Mrs. R. Kinsman and
Mrs. John A. Cooper will pack
and mail a parcel of white
material for African Hospitals in
need.
Courtesy remarks were given
by Mrs. Ross Broadfoot who also
reminded the ladies that the pie
stall at Zurich Bean Festival is
reserved and paid for for the year
1975.
Mrs. Ross Love took up the
offering which was dedicated by
Mrs. David Cooper who closed
the meeting with a poem, "This
Canada of Ours."
The hostesses Mrs. E. Kyle and
Mrs. Ross Love served lunch.

Zion church notes •
Rev. Harold Snell, Exeter
conducted the Sunday morning
service in Zion United Church.
Flowers were from the funeral of
Mrs. Alfred Tilley. Members of
the congregation erxtended a
unanimous invitation to Rev.
'Bruce Pierce of Abbey,
Saskatchewan to become their
pastor. Rev. Pierce and his
family will move to Crediton in
June, During , the intervening
months the Crediton
congregation will be served by
supply ministers.

Tuesday evening the Women's
Institute conducted the
November Birthday Party at the
Bluewater Home, with the North
Group in charge of the program.
Mrs. Ross Haugh led the
meeting and gave a reading.
There was group singing and a
contest for the residents. Bill
Dougall, Glenn Hodgins and Mrs.
Harvey Hodgins provided
musical numbers, Mrs. Dave
Cottel gave a reading.
Institute members served
sandwiches and birthday cake to
all present.
UCW bazaar
The UCW of Zion United
Church held a successful bazaar
and tea Saturday afternoon,
Crowds jammed the lower
auditorium of the church and
articles offered for sale were
quickly purchased.
More than one hundred people
were served at the tea table. Mrs.
Cliff Kenney and Mrs. Gordon
Ratz were in charge of the tea,
Mrs. Ross Krueger and Mrs.
Armin Schlenker of the baked
goods, and Mrs. Hugo Schenk and
Mrs. Lloyd Lamport of sewing
and produce. The Explorers'
table was under the direction of
Mrs. Don Finkbeiner and Mrs.
Hank Brand,

The Hurondale No. 6 girls
entertained their mothers and
grandmothers at a tea at the
home of their leader, Mrs.
Charles Kernick where they
served fancy sandwiches and
cookies which they had learned to
make in the club, "The Club Girl
Entertains".
The girls on the decorating
committee made several at-
tractive bouquets. One bouquet, a
mixture of yellow and bronze
mums with yellow candles was on
the tea table.
The girls have one more
meeting to finish up this club.
