ROBERT LAING CROMARTY For their eighth meeting, the Happy Cookers entertained their Mothers at a Chinese dinner in Gene's Restaurant in Stratford. The menu consisted of egg rolls, with plum sauce, chicken chow mein, rice with soy sauce, sweet and sour chicken, breaded shrimp, cherry sauce, sweet and sour spare ribs, green tea, and fortune • cookies. Eighteen girls and mothers sampled the various Chinese, foods, some using the chopsticks which were supplied. Welcome To Our Personals Mrs. Jim Miller was hostess for a Stanley party on Thursday evening with Mrs. Hirtzel of Centralia as demonstrator. Sunday visitors with Mrs. John Jefferson were Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Laidlaw and family, Dorchester, and Mr. & Mrs. Donald Riehl and boys, Seebach's Hill. Mrs, Charles Douglas, presiding, opened the meeting with Thoughts of the Day. The scripture was read in unison. Hymn 87, 0 God Our Help in Ages Past was sung, followed by a reading by Mrs. Douglas entitled A Fartner's Creed, The topic was taken by Mrs, Miller on the life and acts of Dorcas. Six members answered the roll call by giving a verse on courage or naming a Bible woman and telling why she was mentioned. The offering was received by Mrs. Miller and dedicated by Mrs. Douglas. Visits and cards to shut-ins were reported. Mrs. M. LatnOnd'p presided for the 'business when it was decided to have men's and women's clothing I left in the church by Dec, 31st, to be forwarded to the Unitarian Services Committee who are in need of winter clothing. Mrs. Calder McKaig prepared a Bible quiz. Mrs. Thomas L.
