market and the money goes to the

Sister at Huronview. Plans were
discussed for the 40th Anniver-
sary. A donation was made to the
Blind.
Mrs. H. Caldwell gave the
motto, "Homemaking is no
common task, it is the attitude
that makes it interesting or dull."
Fermer Santones sang several
songs accompaning herself on the
guitar. Margaret Hoggarth gave
a Halloween Gimmick, Mary
Connolly gave Courtesy remarks.
Grace Eyre conducted a contest
and Rose Hummel was in charge
of lunch. Mrs. G. McLean chaired
the program and Mrs. R. Kin-
sman the business.

Mrs, James McNeil of Atwood,
The Presbyterial visitor, was
guest speaker at the Thankof-
fering meeting of the Marian
Ritchie Evening Auxiliary and
W,M.S. last Tuesday evening.
Mrs. McNeil brought greetings
and spoke briefly on the topic
"When You Work too Hard" as
outlined in the book, Proverbs
and Programa.
Following the Thanksgiving
service Mrs. Jean Carey presided
and gave the call to worship. The
hymn, All Creatures of our God
and King was sung followed by
Prayer by Mrs. E. Allen. Mrs, F.
Hamilton read the scripture
passages assisted by Mrs. John
Templeman as Noah, and Mrs.
Carter Kerslake, Mrs. Lloyd
Miller and Mrs. Larry Gardiner
as lepers.
Mrs. Carey led in the Litany of
Thanksgiving and the offering
was received by Mrs. Norman
Harburn and dedicated with the
first verse of Hymn 572, Give
Thanks my Soul for Harvest.
The pianist, Mrs. Ivan Norris,
played an instrumental, followed
by a reading, God Bless all
Homes, by Mrs. Duncan Scott.
The roll call was answered by a
Thanksgiving Thought. Mrs, C.
Kerslake gave a report of the Fall
Conference which was held
recently in St. Marys.
During the business a cookbook
committee was appointed. They
are Mrs. Eldon Allen, Mrs. Larry
Gardiner, Mrs. John Tern-
pleman, Mrs. Carter Kerslake.
The next meeting will include a
talent sale.
The meeting closed with Hymn
571, We Praise Thee, 0 God, and
the closing prayer in unison,
Rev. L. G. Stairs, Brantford,
area secretary for the Leprosy
Mission, showed a film on the
work of the mission at a joint
Sunday School and church ser-
vice on Sunday morning.
In his remarks, Mr. Stairs
commended the faithful givings
of the Sunday School children in
the Pete banks which they have
used for several years. This'year
the money from the banks is
being used in Thailand and
Indonesia for sending children to
school. In Thailand the attitude
toward leprosy is such that if
anybody in a family has leprosy,
no child is allowed to go to school
and the mission is building a
school for children of these
In Indonesia, Pete Bank money
is rending such children to a
Salvation Army School, He stated
that more than $30,000. was
raised from used stamps and
Pete banks last year. It takes
about four Canadian dollars for
drugs to cure one leprosy victim.

Cromarty Women's Missionary
Society took the form of a
congregational pot luck supper
held in the .basement of the
church.
Mrs. Denton Taylor of
Belleville was guest speaker.
Mrs. Taylor heads the Board of
Congregational Life of the
Presbyterian Church in Canada.
Other guests included her family
and Miss Louise McGillvary, as
well as several members of
Exeter W.M.S.
Following a bounteous supper,
everyone assembled in the
