4-H girls meet
Clandeboye 4-Hers gathered
for the fourth meeting of Club No,
1 at the home of their leader Mrs.
B. Henry.
Formal and informal teas were
discussed and the girls learned to
make fancy sandwiches. Cindy
Prest poured tea for the formal
tea.
Meeting five will be Monday
evening October 21st at Cindy
Pres t's home.
Number two club girls had
meeting four on the topic
"Entertaining at Tea."
Making fancy sandwiches was
demonstrated. Judging and
giving reasons was also on the
agenda.
The girls enjoyed sandwiches
and lemonade. The next meeting
is Saturday, October 19th at
Groenewegens.
Club No. 3 exchanged pictures
for their reference file, as a roll
call, with all 9 members present.
Planning a party was discussed
and plans were made for the
party the girls will have in
November.

Church plans
fall courses
October 17 sees the beginning
of the fall program of Adult
Christian Education of Zion
Lutheran Church, Dashwood,
Two courses are being offered
free of charge to members of the
parish and the community at
large. Any person 14 years of age
or older is invited to enroll.
New to the curriculum this fall
is a course on Bible interpreta-
tion. This course is designed to
help the lay-person to read and
understand his Bible with more
enjoyment.
Subjects to be discussed in-
clude literal and figurative
language in the Bible, the clarity
of the scriptures, using scripture
to interpret scripture, and using
the various modern translations.
This class meets at 7:30, October
17 at Zion Lutheran Church,
Dashwood.
Fundamental Christian beliefs
begins Sunday, October 20, at
Zion, Dashwood. This course ex-
amines the foundations of the
Christian faith as believed, con-
fessed, and taught by the
Lutheran Church.
Among the subjects to be dis-
cussed are the nature of God,
how God may be known by man,
salvation, justification, and the
end of the world, The Biblical
basis for each teaching will be
thoroughly examined.
Each course will last 8 to 10
weeks, There will be ex-
planations by the teacher in addi-
tion to questions, answers, and
discussions by class members,
Additional courses will be
available in January, 1975, and in
the spring.
