Todd of Beach O'Pines returned on the weekend from a three week holiday trip abroad. During a visit to Glasgow, Scotland they called on Dr. & Mrs. Sloan Robertson who are long time friends. • ACW Workshop A 3 day workshop for the A.C.W,Diocese of Huron was held in Grand Bend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with sessions held at Oakwood Inn. Special speaker was Bishop Valentine from Winnipeg and the topic was "Recolour yolar world." Breakfast was served in the Parish Hall by the A.C.W. ladies, lunch was served at St. Paul's church, Thedford and dinner at Grace church, Greenway. Orpha Club meets The Orpha Club held their first meeting of the fall season at the home of Mrs. Susie Devine with 18 in attendance. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Leroy Bariteau presided. The Presbyterial President of Huron and Perth, Mrs. Roy Galway of Listowel brought greetings to the group, Guest speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Ellen Ross of Mitchell and her topic was "Growth." 4-H Club girls The local 4-H girls held their first meeting Tuesday evening at the home of Debia Ford. This project is "The Club Girl Entertains." and they named their club "The Happy Hostesses." Roll call was to answer registration, They arranged flowers and discussed hospitality in the home. Next meeting will be at Diane Rood's home and their home assignment is to practise measuring in metrics. Persona Is Mr. & Mrs. Roy Morenz, Glenda and Tammy were Sunday night dinner guests with Mrs. Morenz' son and family, Mr. & Mrs. Glen Thurman and Dania, of Denfield when they celebrated Dania's first birthday. The A.C.W. ladies held their monthly meeting Tuesday evening in the Parish Hall. President, Mrs. Maurice McDonald presided and Mrs. John Mennell read the scripture. Plans were made for the up- coming A.C.W. Diocese of Huron sessions. Albert Meringa of Drente, Holland arrived Saturday by plane for a three week visit with his daughter and family, Mr. & Mrs. Cornelius Inthout and grandchildren Zelda and Harry. Sunday visitors with the Inthout's were Mr. & Mrs. Robert Garside, Carol and Ken of Oil Springs, and Mr. & Mrs. George Dietra, Henk and Wanda of Wyoming. Mr. & Mrs. James Prance entertained Sunday evening, their daughter Mrs. Irene Desjardine, their grandchildren and great grandchildren to a dinner at Bayview Restaurant on the occasion of their 55th wedding anniversary.
