residents return from hospital

and Mrs. Robertson from the
Bank of Montreal, Lucan.
Bob Northinore has been home.
for several weeks from St. Marys
Hospital but returns every day
for therapy. He is progressing
favourably,
Mrs. Barbara Carter and Mrs.
Alan were among the guests last,
week at the tea held at the home
of Mrs. Wm. Stewart and several
couple's attended the Dance at
Parkhill,
Cheryl Lynn has been in War
Memorial Hospital London for
several days and will be retur-
ning home this week.

Club No. 1 held their third
meeting at the home of Nancy
Holland, with roll call being the
type of reference file chosen.
Nine girls learned how to pack
a suitcase and participated in a
quiz about table setting,manners
and family meals. The next
meeting is at Henry's,
No. 2 club chose the name
"Enduring Entertainers" for
their group,
Eight members were present.
and Tracey Cunningham made
place mats and serviettes for a
party and the girls served cup
cakes and a drink.
The next meeting is October 12
at 10 a.m. at Mrs. A. Hodgins.
Club No. 3 held their 4th
meeting at Lynn's. The girls
discussed making fancy sand-
wiches. The roll call was
"Something I would like in a
guest room."
The girls made fan-
cy sandwiches. The next meeting
is Saturday at 9:30 at Soni
Edward's home.

Clandeboye UCW met Tuesday
evening at the home of the
president Mrs. C. Coughlin. Nine
ladies answered roll call followed
by minutes and the treasurers
report.
Plans were discussed for the
Dessert Tea and bake sale,
Saturday October 26th.
A quilt will be quilted at the
home of Mrs. R.Williams next
week.
Mrs. W. Scott was in charge of
Devotions and introduced the
new study pack.
Vice president closed with
prayer and grace before the
refreshments were served.
Mr. Clare Paton was in com-
petition at the International
Plowing Match from Tuesday
until Friday.

Fair and received three firsts and
four seconds in the open class for
heifers, cows and bulls,
Mr. & Mrs, Ray Bernard, Patti
and Lorie and Mr. & Mrs. Lorne
Armitage, Ballymote were
Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs,
Arnold Lewis and family.
Mr, & Mrs. Ken Carter and Mr,
& Mrs, Dick Parker of Harriston
spent last weekend with relatives
in Au Gres in Michigan.
Mr. & Mrs. H.Rosch and family
Sylvia, Reynold, Monica, Jackie,
Rachel and Marcel spent Sunday
afternoon hiking in the woods and
enjoyed the beautiful colour of
the leaves. Reynold returned
with a portion of a yellow jackets'
nest.
The Ken Carters spent a few
days with Mr. & Mrs. J. Brownlee
and family in Gravenhurst.
The Jamaica boys and men
have left this area. Some have
returned home and others have
moved to Exeter for the rest of
the pack.
Mr, & Mrs. Harry Murless have
returned home after a few days in
Toronto with their daughter and
family.

London with Nancy and Nathan
Skinner.

Bill Cunningham spent the
weekend with his sister Mr. &
Mrs. Lloyd Gibson. Mrs. Bonnie
Morgan and friend were Sunday
visitors.

having a few holidays this week
from their respective positions.

Members of the UCW attended
the South Huron Fall Regional at
Dashwood United Church
Wednesday and the October
meeting of the UCW of Centralia
United Church Thursday
evening.

Lorne Finkbeiner returned
home from hospital Saturday, but
had to be readmitted to St.
Joseph's Hospital Sunday
evening.
Mrs. Alfred Tilley is a patient
at South Huron Hospital.

by the Hospital Auxiliary can-
vass. Canvassers were Mrs. Earl
Haist, Mrs. David Cottel, Mrs. Ed
Nethercott and Mrs. Peter
Martin.
