she said.

Puppets and playdough,
painting and lots of playmates,
that's what 30 preschoolers in the
Lucan area are getting from the
Lucan Nursery School which
started operation this fall.
Operating out of the St.
Patrick's Parish Mini Hall, south
of Lucan, the co-operative
Nursery school is providing
preschool learning for area
youngsters.
The plan for the Nursery school
came from interested mothers in
the Lucan district and it is the
work of these mothers who made
the project work and will keep it
going.
A garage sale and bake sale
during the summer, as well as, a
booth at the Lucan Fair to sell
puppets and raffle Raggedy Ann
and Andy dolls produced the
money to finance the school, The
mothers donated the goods to be
sold, worked at the functions and
made the "Sesame Street" type
puppets.
Equipment, supplies and toys
were bought from the proceeds of
the sales to furnish the Mini Hall.
Space for the nursery school
was donated by the parish of St.
Patrick's Roman Catholic
Church free of charge.
Teacher, Linda Kadechuk is
assisted each morning by two
mothers, who volunteer their
time to help keep the school
running. The mothers rotate,
each assisting at the school
periodically. The students'

Children are encouraged to
participate in all activities which
include a free play time in the
early morning with toys, climber,
dressup, crafts and painting
offered, A story time follows and
then a snack and a rest.
The nursery school gives
preschoolers a chance to learn to
socialize with other children their
own age and helps get them
ready for school.
There are so many new and
interesting things to do that often
a child wanders back and forth
until he decides which would be
the most fun.
