at our School in 1924, for their

choir, many concerts, good music

makers in the Convent.

train from Chatham with four
Sisters in our Convent, For ten
years Grades 1-10 were taught
then for ten more years grades 1-
12 were taught. This was possible
by arranging two more class-
rooms in the Parish Dance Hall.
The school was inadequate and
Government would not extend
any Grants.
Pastor praised Sisters for daily
religion classes prepared for first
Communion; Confirmation
Classes; their good example,
" helped in homes with their
charitable treats and sewing for
needy families.
The President ofthe C.W.L. and
many of the League members
prepared a banquet in the school
gym where 43 Sisters attended
and four senior citizens with 13
Sisters of the St, Joseph Order
who had entered Orders from Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish

attended the funeral of the for-
mer's uncle, the late Andrew
Grieve in Sudbury on Friday.
4-H Club
The third meeting of the
kirkton No. 4 Club girls was held
on September 16th. The first part
of the meeting was held in the
Kirkton United Church where a
film entitled "Pioneers of Black
Creek Village" was shown to all
the Kirkton Clubs. The No. 4 club
girls returned to the home of Mrs.
John Rodd.
The meeting opened with the 4-
H Pledge and the roll call "Name
a recipe of food characteristic of
England, Scotland, Ireland or
Wales" was answered by eight
girls. The minutes of the last
meeting were read by the
secretary, Margaret Parkinson.
The next meeting will be
September 23rd at the home of
Mrs. Fred Parkinson. They went
over the notes for meeting three.

meeting adjourned.
