Because this fuel is not readily available throughout Canada,* all engines (with the exception of one, the optional 2,8 litre VG) for all 1975 lines of Ford of Canada cars have been designed to meet the new Canadian exhaust emission standards without requiring converters. This means they can be refueled with any gasoline-- unleaded, premium, or the lower priced regular. This is of particular importance to those who travel in rural areas where availability is substantially less than major urban centres.
