McCURDY r In loving memory of a
devoted wife and friend of all passed
away in South Huron Hospital
September 17, 1973 in her 75th year.
One sad and lonely year has passed
Since that great sorrow fell
The shock that we received that day
No one can ever tell.
Your end came sad and sudden
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
Only God knows the reason why.
A golden heart stopped beating
Two working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
We cannot forget your smiling face
Your happy care-free smile
That won so many friends
In the happy by-gone days.
So, this month comes with deep
regret
For it brings back a day I cannot
forget
You left so sudden without a good-

by
memories of you will never die.
Forever loved and sadly missed by

That nothing we can say •
Can tell the sadness in our hearts
As we think of you today.
Always remembered by Ken,
Dorothy and family. 38c

CARDS OF THANKS ,
I find it very difficult to find words
to adequately express my apprecia-
tion to all the wonderful people who
sent me flowers, gifts, cards and per-
• sonal notes of prayer and encourage-
ment while I was a patient in Univer-
sity Hospital and later in South
Huron Hospital, Last June I had the
privilege of speaking to the Grade 8
graduating class of the Exeter Public
School. In that address I cautioned
the children that the future would not
always be bright and-rosy and that
they should be prepared to face dif-
ficult hurdles by relying on faith in
God's ever present help end by seek-
ing advice from parents, teachers
and friends. Little did I know that
evening that within a month I myself
would have a difficult wall to climb!
Without the loving care of my family,
the concern and encouragement of
neighbours, friends, relatives and the
splendid care of doctors and nurses
who seem to perform miracles, and
especially a firm faith that there was
always Someone much stronger and
wiser than we humans giving me the
courage to fight, I would have found
it difficult indeed to keep op the
struggle. It is indeed wonderful to be
back home in Exeter, in Huron Coun-
ty — an area filled with more caring
people than I ever imagined. I have
mentioned no single group or person
by name because I would be afraid to
omit someone — but a very sincere
thank you to all. — Mrs. Helen Jet-
myn 38p
Joe and Mary Whelihan wish to
thank their relatives, neighbours and
friends for the cards and gifts receiv-
ed on our 25th wedding anniversary.
Special thanks to Marie Ross for an-
niversary dinner and the peighbours
and friends of Whalen for their sur-
prise party, lunch and presentation of
x ifts, All are reatly appreciated. We
regret we were not home when
friends called September 10. 38c
Graham and . Anna Eagleson wish
to thank everyone who remembered
them on the occasion of their 25th
wedding anniversary. Your thought-
fulness was especially ap-
preciated, 38p
I wish to thank my friends,
relatives and neighbors for cards,
flowers and gifts I received while a
patient in South Huron Hospital and
since returning home. Special thanks
to the nurses and staff, Dr. Fletcher
and Dr. Goddard. — Elva Davey
would like to take this opportunity
to thank all the ladies of Centralia
and surrounding area for the two
lovely place settings of good china
and the cup and saucer given to me
prior to our wedding. It was greatly
appreciated. — Sincerely, Joan
(Lobb) Lyndon 38c
Jack and Ruth Tweddle sincerely
thank our relatives, neighbours and
friends for cards, gifts and messages
of congratulations received on the oc-
casion of our 25th anniversary. A
special thank you to our family and to
all those who helped in any way to
make the dance such an enjoyable
evening. Thanks to the shivaree
group and the Walkers and Adair
music, we really did appreciate your
late visit. Also thanks to the
neighbours for their shivaree. All
