This year for the first time the Exeter Fall Fair will feature a Sunday afternoon program in the form of a Country and Western Jamboree. Local dance band enthusiast Bob Heywood has arranged for a number of area groups to appear, The following musicians are expected to entertain: Bluewater Pjayboys, Star Trex, Joe Overholt and the Standbys, Leroy Walker & the Western Aires, Roger Quicki,& the Rainbows, Al Harvey & the Blueboys, Ed Lesperance Trio, Heywood Brothers, Walter Whitehead & Nashville Bound, Whitestone County Band, Alpen- Aires, Country Folk, Wally Dee, Glanville sisters and more. Each group will entertain several times during the program. It is expected the Jam- boree will progress into the even- ing hours. The show will be held in the Exeter Arena commencing at 1 p.m, Sunday, September 22, Lunch will be available. A collection will be received at the door with all proceeds being donated to community projects. Come and enjoy a program of country music at its best. The topic was taken by Mrs. Gerald Moffatt entitled "Problems facing the un- derdeveloped Nations and Everyone." The Statistical in- troduction compared the developed to the undeveloped peoples, followed by an in- formative film on population control, made the group realize stewartship must reach all nations of the world. Several motions were passed. It was decided to collect in lieu of a fowl supper and volunteers were organized for this. The Huronia Choir will be present for the October 20 Anniversary Service. Mrs. Bill Consitt entertained with a contest on "Books of the Bible" The meeting closed with a reading "For those we ae trying to help" by Mrs. Turner. Unit 3 served lunch. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Art Gibson, Wroxeter, visited with Mr. & Mrs. W. L. Mellis. Mrs. Hazel Long, Owen Sound, called on and visited old friends in the village Saturday. Nelson Hood is undergoing tests in the hospital in London. UCW Meets UCW of St. Andrews Church Kippen met in the Sunday School Room on September 10 with 13 members present. Mrs. Harold Jones was in charge of the Worship which opened with a poem "I would like to come to church" followed by singing a hymn. The theme centered around Style Show and closed with a prayer for "Every Day". The president Mrs.David Turner opened the business portion of the meeting with "A mother's prayer in the morning." The roll call was answered by the exchange of a flower slip. The Rose Report was given by Mrs. Laird Finlayson, sunshine report by Mrs. Norman Dickert, visitors report by Mrs. Edison McLean, correspondence by Mrs. E. McLean in Mrs. Tom Reid's absence. WI begins fall season. By MRS. DAVID KESTLE CLANDEBOYE Clandeboye WI began the fall season with a meeting at the home of Mrs. Karl O'Neil with eleven members present. Mrs. W. Scott, presided and secretary Mrs. H. Hardy took the roll call which was to name your favorite style of furniture, Mrs. N. Hardy chose the fur- niture industry as her topic un- der the heading Agriculture and Canadian Industry. Mrs. M. Simpson won the con- test conducted by Mrs. L. Hodgins and Mrs. Alan Hill gave a reading. It was decided to purchase an article for the sale table at the Area Convention to be held No- vember 27 & 28 inStratford. A bus trip to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto on November 20 was planned. The October meeting will be held Wednesday October 9 at the SAVINGS Darling's (LOVER FARM home. Ladies Ball The Evil Demon's and Clandeboye ladies ball teams tangled in a sudden death game Sunday afternoon. The Demons paraded to the field in full dress waving their banners in the rain.
