Thursday at the Lucan Legion starting at 10:00 a.m. concerning the proposed water system for the village of Granton. Most of the residents attending the meeting were there to oppose the water system and to present their ideas on the issue. Chairman A.R. Arrell said he was concerned because no site for the water supply had been chosen and who could ensure a municipal water system could supply as good a water supply as the residents on deep wells have already. A decision by the Ontario Municipal Board will be made within two months of the hearing, ACW Meeting The September meeting of the ACW was held Wednesday evening in the Anglican Church parish hall. Mrs. Kenneth Hodgins president presided with the opening prayers and business. Mrs. Jack Noon was in charge of reading the meditation and other readings. Scripture was read by Mrs. Marjorie Morley and the litany by Mrs. C. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Hodgins, Mrs. Lois Herbert and family and Mrs. Joseph Bryan attended the chicken barbeque Friday evening at Saintsbury Anglican Church. Mr. & Mrs. John Talbot and Robin of Oakville visited with Mrs. Ross Clatworthy on the long weekend, Julie and daughter Robin stayed with her mother for a few days after which Mrs. Clatworthy returned with her daughter to her home for a couple of days. Mrs. Rhoda Yosinski of Winnipeg, Manitoba spent the weekend visiting with her uncle Mr. Carlton Ridley.
