One of the area's top sheep breeders, Gerald Dearing of Stephen township will demon- strate the art of sheep shearing at three demonstrations Saturday afternoon, Friday night's show which opens the fair will again provide entertainment by local talent and the always popular baby show and beauty contest. The top prize for the local girl selected as Fair Queen will be a Bulova watch valued at $50 donated by Exeter jeweller Earl Campbell. The baby show gets underway at 7:30 Friday night and mothers are asked to register their babies with secretary Garnet Hicks as soon as possible. Hicks said this week that the first 10 entrants in each class will be accepted and entry may be made by calling 235-2438. Valuable prizes are being donated by local merchants in four categories. They are under four months; five to eight months; nine months and up but not including 13 months and twins. The Saturday afternoon western horse show will have a new division giving boys and girls 16 years of age and under the opportunity to compete in barrel and flag races. In order to renew competition in the showing of cattle, prize monies are being doubled and. emphasis is being put on the hog classes. A parade will be held Saturday morning starting at 11:30 a.m, at the Snell Bros. parking lot This includes youngsters with their bicycles. Secretary Hicks said first prizes in the parade for the best floats in five different categories are $20. The annual fair dance will be held Saturday night at the Exeter Large crowd at chicken barbecue By MRS. The new vehicle, would be of , five ton capacity and include snow plow attachments, Five property owners at part of Lot 5, L.R.W. Concession were given permission to connect to the Stephen water system. The properties are in the former Sunnyside subdivision and the owners will carry out their own construction from the connection at the south end of Eva street in Kingsmere.
