Ontario Hydro approved the remuneration suggested by council. A motion was passed to instruct the clerk to put a notice in the paper regarding sewage works. With the increase in water rates in August from 40c to 50c per 1000 gallons this meant a jump from $40 to $91 per day in August. The increased consumption is due mainly to the hot dry spell, the reeve said, Three properties listed for a tax sale by the township were withdrawn when the owners paid up the back 'taxes for the past three years. The animal control officer for the township, Dick Eisler of Goderichdiscussed the crackdown to be made for collecting 1974 dog added cost of a non-residents' fee for our programs and facilities. Road superintendent Allan Nicholson received a certificate from the Ontario Good Roads' Association for the course he attended at the University of Guelph in May. In his report to council, Mr. Nicholson said a culvert six feet in diameter had been removed from sideroad 5-6 during reconstruction of the big drain and that it will be offered for sale. A request for a tile drainage loan of $2,000 was approved but council members expressed annoyance when it was reported tile was already installed. In the future council will refuse a request for a loan if it is not made prior to any construction work, Passed for payment were accounts totalling $56,815.90. tags from the dogowners in the township who have not got around to buying their tags or who have paid for one dog when they have two or three more. Farm houses as well as urban homes will be visited in the check-up. Requests for Wilding permits were granted to: John A. Cooper, Kippen for a new house; Orville Workman, RR 3, Kippen for a grain tank. A delegation of five from the Seaforth Recreation Committee asked for a grant of $1,000 for a 12 month period as Tuckersmith's share for its children and adults participating in recreation of- fered by the town.
