killed or injured as the result of
negligence by a hunter can
receive up to a maximum of $500
per head for cattle and horses
and $10Q for swine, sheep and
goats under the Ontario Hunter
Damage Compensation Act.
In addition, damage to farm
machinery by hunters may be
claimed under this Act, which is
administered by the Live Stock
Branch of the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food.
An owner wishing to make a
claim under this legislation
should contact the county or
district office of the agricultural
representative,

damaged or killed by dogs,

casion of their twenty-fifth
wedding anniversary which is on
the 27th.
Euchre was played. Prizes
were won by: ladies high, Mrs.
Mac Hodgert; ladies low, ,Mrs.
William Snow; booby prize,
Agnes Bray; men's high, Wayne
Rowe; men's low, Frank Kints;

Jack Borland spoke a few
words and Mrs. Lee Webber
presented Wilfred and Viola with
a silver anniversary cup and
saucer and a silver candy dish. A
beef barbecue and an anniver-
sary cake were served.

The Granton junior girls finish-
ed up their baseball season last
week. Monday night they travell-
ed to Cromarty ball park and
beat Hibbert with' a score of 28-
16.
Thursday night in Granton ball
park the local girls were badly
beaten by Thames Road 38-17.
This being a round robin playoff
game it eliminated Granton
from the series.

sermon on pioneers

Church Cemetery Sunday. Guest
speaker Rev. Glenn Wright of
`Exeter took charge of, the ser-
vice in the church. His address
was on pioneers of the district.

The Granton Rec, Community
Assoc. committee is holding a
public meeting August 27 in
Granton Fire Hall at 8:00 p.m.
They will be presenting a finan-
cial statement and holding elec-
tion of officers for the coming 74-
75 year. -
The committee members wish
to thank everyone for their par-
ticipation and support during this
past year and hope to see this
meeting well attended.

Lynda Thomson was united in
marriage to Peter Blom Friday
evening at a candlelight service
in Granton United Church. Many
people from Granton and the sur-
rounding area attended the wed-
ding and the reception dance and
dinner held later at the Kirkton-
Woodham community centre.

held this weekend. Granton was
well represented in the Sunday
afternoon Talent Show.
