farewell sermon on SundaY
before leaving Wednesday
morning to take up residence in
St. Catharines. He has served the
Church of God congregation over
a period of 20 years.
On Tuesday evening the church
members held a Share-a-dish
supper in his honor with 60 in
attendance
Special guests for this occasion
were Mr. Wattam's two brothers,
Mr. & Mrs. Ray Wattam f rom Youngstown, New York, Mr. &
Mrs. Leslie Wattam from St.
Catharines,
A paper titled "This is your
life", with snapshot pictures, was
prepared and presented to Mr. &
Mrs. Wattam by Mrs. Rufus
Turnbull.
40th Anniversary
Mr. & Mrs. Alec Hamilton
observed their 40th wedding
anniversary last week and were
dinner pests with their youngest
son Mr. & Mrs. Brad Hamilton at
the Benmiller Estates.
They Also received
congratulations and flowers from
their oldest son Barry and family
in Ottawa.
Rev. H, Dobson conducted
Services at the Bluewater Chapel
on Sunday evening and was
assisted in music by Miss Idella
Gable, Mr. & Mrs. Ross Love,
Alec Hamilton and Walter
Fassold.
Mr. & Mrs. Roy Morenz,
Glenda and Tammy visited
Tuesday in Denfield with Mr. &
Mrs. Glen Thurman and Dania.

The July meeting of Cromarty
Women's Missionary Society was
held at the home of the president,
Mrs. Malcolm Lamond. Mrs.
Grace Scott, presiding, opened
the meeting with a poem "The
Nation's Strength". A hymn was
sung.
The scripture lesson, Psalm 67
was read in unison followed by
meditation and prayer by Mrs.
Scott. The offering was received
by Mrs. Lamond and dedicated
by Mrs. Scott. Part 4 of the study
book, A Way of Witness, was
presented by Mrs. Charles
Douglas. The roll call, witness,
was answered by 7 members.
A skit, To Tell the Truth, was
presented by Mrs. H, Dow and
the meeting closed with singing
of He's Got the Whole World in
A truth skit presented
His Hands and the Lord's Prayer.

Two games of Men's Softball
were played at the park on •
Saturday night. In the first
Chiselhurst defeated Staffa 17-13
and in the second Cromarty won
over Roys 21-20. On Sunday
evening, a team from Staffa-1
Cromarty area called the Twin-
City Bombers, was defeated by a
Mitchell team Gill's Grizzlies in a
one-sided game of slow pitch ball.
