a doctor or dentist will be available, free of
charge, to those qualifying for the special benefits
outlined above, Family Benefits or the federal
Guaranteed Income Supplement. Drug cards will be
mailed automatically. You don't have to apply for them.
Who will receive these special benefits?

A radar-controlled
speedometer-like dial -by the
road in Los Angeles shows
your exact speed as you ap-
proach. Police say it really im-
presses - and slows down -
passing motorists,
Here's another rule of thumb
to keep from tailgating: allow
two seconds' space. After the
car ahead of you passes land-
mark (sign, pole) does it take
at least two seconds until you
do?
Experts say the radial is the
tire of the future. Steel belts
are very popular.
There's a transparent fuel filter
that tells you in a glance when
it's dirty enough to need ser-
vicing.
Classic cars now in high de-
mand have service problems
most of us don't even think of.
A 1929 Rolls suddenly came
down with a bad case of ter-
mites in the teak running
boards. Had to be fumigated.
htestgigio is one thing, but running
boards ore no problem on the new
cars at Lorry Sniders.

termediate baseball league this
week.
Wednesday night in Clinton,
the Expos and the Clinton Colts
engaged in one of the best games
of the season, The Colts exploded
for seven runs in the bottom of
the seventh inning to record a 8-1
victory.
Friday night the Expos
dropped a 4-3 decision to Arva,.
The only Expo run came in the
eighth when Jim Pfaff singled,
went to second on a wild pitch
and scored as Dave Parsons'
grounder was bobbled by the
Clinton third sacker.
The big Clinton rally was
powered by a home run from the
bat of Dan Colquhoun.
Jim Pfaff went the distance on
the mound for the Expos and
gave up only two hits outside of
the big Clinton rally in the
seventh and struck out seven.
The Expos were able to
manage only two hits off the
offerings off Clinton right bander
Stu Mustard, Jim Lewyckyj and
Jim Pfaff picked up the only
singles.
Mustard with a big sweeping
curve ball sent 14 Expos down
swinging.
Lose in Seventh
Two runs by Arva in the bottom
of the seventh inning sent the Ex-
pos down to defeat Friday,
Arva went ahead 2-0 in the
third as Craig Myers was safe on
an error and scored as Dennis
Plaine homered.
The Expos tied the score in the
fourth as Terry Bourne singled
and rode home ahead of Randy
Tiernan on his home run blast.
Arva took a one run lead in the
fifth only to have the Expos even
the count as Terry Bourne singl-
ed and scored on a similar hit
from the bat of Rob Grant.
Walt Parkinson's single chased
the two winning runs for Arva
home in the seventh.
Jim Pfaff again tossed the full
game for the Expos. He gave up
seven hits, while striking out
eight Arva batters,
The Expos were in action again
last night, Wednesday travelling
to Clinton to meet the Colts
again. The next home start for
the Exeter club will be Sunday
afternoon at Exeter Community
Park at two o'clock with the
Zurich Mets supplying the op-
position.
This years Playground staff in
Exeter are all eager and ready to
go with a new program and some
special activities for the local
children this summer,
Anne Pinder is Playground
supervisor this year and she will
be assisted by Linda Ritchie and
Laura Johns.
This will be Anne's third year
with the playgrounds. Linda and
Laura are first year playground
staff but, have both worked for
the past two years in the gym-
nastics program during the
winter.
The girls have just returned
from a week long training course,
sponsored by the Lake Huron
Recreation Directors, held at the
United Church camp near
Goderich. The course was at-
tended by 138 playground leaders
from Huron, Bruce and Grey
counties.
The girls came hack with some
new ideas and training in
program planning, arts and
crafts, games supervision, first
aid and drama.
Four special events are
already planned for the children
this summer. On July 17 there
will be an excursion to Clinton to
participate in a Playday.
There will also be a track and
field meet in Owen Sound, later in
the summer for the older
playground.
The Playground Penny Car-
nival will be held in conjunction
with the Exeter Sidewalk Sale on
August 17. The Playgrounds will
have a booth downtown and hope
to do a little better this year in
attracting people to this event.
The Stratford Youth Theatre
will be coming on July 26 to put on
a presentation of a play for
children based on the theme of
the circus.
This event is open to parents as
well and will be held in the
Community Park or in the arena
if it rains. The Youth Theatre will
be holding a workshop after the
production for the Playground
children.
Playgrounds will also be
making a trip to the zoo in Grand
Bend that week and the week's
crafts will centre around the
circus.
The Playground leaders are
hoping to have a special event
each week and all games and
crafts will revolve around the
theme for the week.
Registration for the
Playground program is still open.
Of the 40 children now registered
about 34 are for the junior
playground, ages 4 to 8 and only 6
for the senior playground, ages 8
to 12. The girls are hoping that
more of the older children will
register to make their program
worthwhile.
Registration this year is for the
whole six week period. Super-
visors found that they had
problems in the past when
registration was on a weekly
basis. Too much of their time was
spent in bookkeeping and
registration duties and not
enough time in activities with the
children.
For the junior playground the
mornings will be spent with
games, songs and crafts and
swimming in the wading pool at
Victoria Park in the afternoon.
The older children will con-
centrate on crafts in the af-
ternoon, There will be field trips
and hikes and perhaps even some
overnight excursions for the
older group.
Organizers are hoping to in-
volve volunteers and parents in
some of the activities.
On rainy days the playground
activities for both parks will be
held in the arena.

And we're off! —
We couldn't have ordered
better weather for the first day of
swimming lessons, Monday, The
sun was out, it was hot and the
swimmers were eager to jump
in!
Unfortunately the lessons in
Victoria Park Wading Pool have
to be delayed for a week due to
malfunctioning of the plumbing
system. But, we hope it will be
able to open the first of next
week,
The swim team is in full swing
this week. The children prove to
be most anxious and if there was
a prize to be awarded for en-
thusiasm our team would win for
sure!
However, we do need boy and
girl swimmers eight years old
who are able to swim one length
of the pool.
Public swimming is at the
usual time; 2:00 each afternoon
and 7:30 each week night. On
weekends the pool opens at 1:30
in the afternoons and 7:00 at
nights. Children under 16 — 25c
and adults 50c,
Adult lessons are at 6:30
Monday through Friday, so we
would certainly like to see you
there!
