New Neighbour
from London
Exeter might seem a long way
to commute to London every day,
but not if you're used to driving
into the center of Toronto from
the' suburbs.
Mrs. Yvonne Bickerstaff, who
moved here May 1 said her
husband doesn't mind a bit, He is
the branch manager at Borg-
Warner Acceptance Corporation
in London.
"When we lived in the suburbs,
John had to drive for 45 minutes
in bumper to bumper traffic at 30
mph to get to work," she said,
"This is nothing ā 60 all the way
down and there's some scenery."
Both are originally from
Ottawa. They spent two years in
Toronto and lived for a short time
in London before finding the
Bonnie-Rosella Mason,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Gerald
Mason, Dashwood, exchanged
wedding vows with Leo Gerard
Ducharme, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Avila Ducharme, RR 2, Zurich, in
a double ring ceremony at The
Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church on May 25. Father D. F.
Boyer officiated.
Baskets of white cut flowers
decorated the church.
Given in marriage by her
brother, Ron Mason, the bride
wore a gown of white silk organza
accented by a high lace neckline
and a V-shaped bib of lace. Full
long sleeves were trimmed with
tight lace cuffs. A train of silk
organza trimmed with lace fell
gracefully from a Victorian
waistline, accented with a set-in
bow at the hack. Her four tiered
illusion veil was held by lace
flowers with seed pearls.
The bride carried a cascade of
white miniature carnations,
azalea, pink roses, stephanotis
and baby's breath.
Judy Mason, sister of the bride
was maid of honor and Mrs.
Susan Mason, sister-in-law of the
bride and Elaine Ducharme,
sister of the groom were
bridesmaids.
The bridesmaids wore colonial
styled gowns with flocked blue
flowers on white silk organza
over blue 'organza. The gowns
were accented with white ruffles
on the hemline, sleeves and
bibbed front. They carried
colonial bouquets of azalea, pink
and varigated pink miniature
carnations, with pink
strawflowers scattered in their
hair,
Groomsmen were Charles
Jeffrey, Ron Ducharme and John
Mason. Fred Ducharme and Bill
Mason ushered the guests, They
wore tuxedoes with blue jackets
and black pants. The groom wore
a pink rose and his attendants
wore miniature white carnations.
Robbie Ducharme, nephew of
the groom, was ringbearer and
Brenda Masse, niece of the
groom was the flowergirl.
The flowergirl wore a long
white gown trimmed in the same
material as the bridesmaids and
carried a basket of pink
miniature carnations,
The wedding reception and
dance was held at the Zurich
arena. For the honeymoon trip
the bride wore a floral street
length dress of white, navy and
red design.

Yvonne used to work for the
federal government, mostly in
administration. While in Toronto
she worked for the Public Service
Commission, that hires people for
the government.
Her family consists of one
energetic son, Lee who is ten-
months old and Fred, an African
Grey parrot. Fred's not much on
talking yet, she said, but he has a
wide vocabulary of whistles.
Right now she is busy
redecorating and trying to start a
garden in the back yard. "With
the price of food these days I
want to take a stab at it." she
said.
There is one minor problem
though. "1 don't like worms and
the garden's full of them!"
But she's working on it.
