About 40 neighbours and
friends held a shower at St.
Andrews Church, Kippen on May
1 to honour Debbie Ferris, bride-
elect.
Mrs. Jack Hodgson was hostess
for the May meeting of the UCW,
Kathleen Morley led in worship.
Hymn "Birds are singing
woods are ringing" was sung as
the opening hymn followed by
prayer and scripture reading by
Kathleen Morley.
Mrs. ' Jack Hodgson gave a
reading on "Life" followed by
two poems read by Mrs. Edwin
Morley, "The Months of the
year" and "Mother." Mrs.
Westhaver then had a play with
Mrs: Wilbert Lewis and Mrs.
Fred Lewis assisting her.
Hymn "For the beauty of the
earth" was sung, The president
then took over. Minutes were
read and adopted. Sixteen
members answered the roll call
and correspondence was read.
Mrs. Jack Hodgson gave
treastirer report from first of the
year Meeth.g was brought to a
close. Group I ladies served
lunch.

p.m. The roll call will be "Little

will give a poem. The 4-H girls
will entertain. Mrs. Grant

The Kippen II Club led by Mrs.
Angus Hammen and assisted by
Mrs. Al Hoggarth has completed
the 4-H Club, "Taking a Look at
Yourself".
The Seven Slickers Consisting
of Lynn Alderdice, Linda Bell,
Shirley Chalmers, Suzie floor-
naert, Doreen and Joanne
VanWieren and Landa Visscher
have all completed the club and
are pleased with their projects
Dashwood with Mrs. William
Snow as hostess., There were
thirty three in attendance.
Mrs. Donald Bray program
convener was in charge of the
meeting. The theme was "Love
For Our Fellowman", The
scripture was read by Mrs. Bray
and Mrs. Floyd Stewart gave a
reading. The prayer was given by
Mrs. Bray. Reading "The Sins of
Omission" by Mrs. Stewart.
The topic of "Mental Retar-
dation" with readings from the
book by Jean Vanier, "Eruption
of Hope," was given by Mrs.
Stewart. The offering was taken.
Reading "The World Is Mine"
was given by Mrs. Bray. She also
gave the Thought For the Day.
Mrs Webber took charge of the
business, roll call, minutes, card
of thanks, treasurer's report and
manse report. It was also decided
to have a flower committee.
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah Benedication.
Mrs. Donald Bray then called
on'Mr. Don Rawlings of the ARC
who showed us through the centre
and also gave a very informative
talk. He was thanked by Mrs.
Stewart.
Lunch was then served by the C
Group.

recently with Mr. & Mrs, William
Snow Jr. of Kippen. The occasion
was Mr, & Mrs. William Snow's
Sr. wedding anniversary.

During this club the girls and
their leaders have discussed
personalities, nail care, closets,
storage, hair care, make-up and
various related topics. An exhibit
has been prepared for
Achievement Day.
The girls of this club would like
to thank their leaders for their
time, patience and effort and also
thank Kippen East W.I. for
sponsoring them. They would
also like to invite all interested
persons to Achievement Day to
be held in Zurich, May 11 at 1
o'clock for the afternoon
program.

Mrs. Ed Cudmore, Vancouver,
sister of W. L, Mellis, died May 5.
