FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA Centralia U.C.W. met in the. school room of the church for the May meeting. Mrs. Art Abbott opened the devotions with a thank-you to all who helped with the fashion show and a poem, "Tomorrow is not promised us". The hymn "Jesus Saves" was sung by all. Mrs. Sam Skinner read "The Beatitudes for Parents" and led in prayer. Mrs. Art Abbott read the poem "Don't let me take it for granted". The hymn "In Christ there is no East or West" was sung. Mrs. Davidson, Brucefield spoke on her experiences In India with her family of 5 children. They went over to see what her husband had started in his 6 weeks over there in the agriculture field. They stayed 8 months, travelling through the country. Mrs,Wm. Essery, president, took the chair for the business having roll call, reports and visits which were 12 for April. One thank you note was read from Senior citizens to say how much they had enjoyed the Monday afternoons of games and fun in the Community. It was sponsored by the U.C.W. The June meeting will be held at Mrs. Penwarden's cottage, Grand Bend, tentatively on June 20, A bus trip is being planned by the committee. Mrs. George Dunn is celebrating her 90th birthday, May 10. The group is planning a party for her at Blue Water Rest Home. Margaret Wilson has com- pleted her course at the Centralia College of Technology and ac- cepted a position at St. Joseph's Hospital, London, She took up her duties on Monday. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Hodgins and Mr. & Mrs. Fred Bowden were in Toronto for the weekend where they attended the thirty-second annual dinner of Canada Packers Quarter Century Club at the Royal York Hotel.
