ROBERT LAING CROMARTY A thank-you note from the Luampa Mission Hospftal in Zambia, to whom the Marian Ritchie Evening Auxiliary sent new pillow cases last year, was read at their April meeting last Tuesday night. Mrs. Jean Carey, presiding, opened the meeting with a reading, The Miracle. The study book section on the meaning of salvation which was given by Mrs. John Miller and Mrs, Lorne Elliott with Mrs. Robert Laing reading portions of scriptute throughout. The roll call was the name of a. missionary and her field. The topic, The Promise of April, was given by Mrs. John Templeman. The meeting closed with Hymn 474 and the Lord's Prayer. A silent auction of plants, sewing, baking and books followed the meeting. During the church service Sunday Rev. Wilfred Jarvis paid tribute to the faithful work of Calder McKaig and Thomas Scott who have both completed 25 years as elders of the congregation of Cromarty Presbyterian Church. At a luncheon following the service, each was presented with a marble desk pen set. Both men expressed their appreciation Noble Grand Mrs. Aldeen Volland assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs. Margaret Consitt presided at the meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge No. 349. Wed- nesday evening. District deputy president Mrs. Mary Gregg, Clinton of Huron District NO. 23 made her official visit and was presented to the Lodge by Jr. P.N.G. Mrs. Irene Blackwell. The Noble Grand received Mrs. Grigg and presented her with a gift on behalf of the Lodge . Visitors from Huronic Lodge Clinton and Pride of Huron Exeter Lodges were welcomed. Mrs. Evelyn MacBeath reported for the Finance Com- mittee, Mrs. Margaret Consitt reported for the visiting com- mittee. The Treasurer Mrs. Dorothy Corbett gave the report of the semi-annual return. Rev, Don Beck conducted the service of worship in Hensall United Church Sunday morning and used as his sermon topic "In the End", The choir sang the anthem "Now let the Heavens be Joyful", under the direction of the organist and choir director Mrs. Turkheim. Mrs. Ralph MacArthur of Edmonton Alberta, is visiting with her mother Mrs. Fred Beer, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Keyes of Grand Bend were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker and Mr. 4 Mrs. Edgar Cedmore. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Verbeen of Sarnia were recent visitors with the latter's brother and sister-in- law, Mr. .& Mrs. Ed Dick, Mr. & Mrs, Fred Riley returned home after spending the winter months in Florida. Reid passed away in St. Marys Hospital April 18, 1974. Middleton, The meeting opened with a hymn and a prayer. The roll call was an- swered with a Bible prayer verse. An invitation from the Hensall U.C.W. to attend their general meeting, May 6 was accepted. A bale will be packed at the next meeting in the Church basement. Members are to bring articles for this bale. The Litany and prayers were read from The Living Message and also a contest "Who was she"? was conducted. An organ instrumental by Mrs. Middleton was enjoyed by all.
