DALEY'S WEEKLY COMMENTS
Snow in north
By SID DALEY
Trust you all had a Happy
Easter despite the weather, I
spent mine with the senior
member of the family in Sault
Ste. Marie and am happy to
advise he is still in fine health.
Brother that weather though,still
about eighteen inches of snow in
the bush. There you are snow
vehicle enthusiasts, its not
necessary to put that machine
away yet, take a weekend andgo
up to the Soo,lots of Crown Land
up there to enjoy yourselves.
Attention all participants in
Branch 540's cheque draw, the
March winner was Mrs. Alice
Gilmour, RR 2 Ailsa Craig,
Ontario, to whom we offer our
congratulations - incidentally I'm
saving my win for the next
million dollar draw seeing as I
didn't make it in the last one.
Comrade P. Goring's name
was drawn for the $20.00 general
meeting attendance draw and not
being in attendance makes the
draw worth $25.00 for the May
meeting.
Seen in the papers ... murder
may be okey ... but be careful
where you dump the body, A man
in West Virginia, who was
acquitted on a murder charge has
been charged with littering. After
he shot a man in self defense, he
threw the body in the Ohio River.
He was cleared on the murder
charge but now faces a charge of
"stream littering." - oh hum, yu
just can't win,
Our safety tip is for those who
do not regularly check the lights
on their cars: "One headlight is
enough if the other driver guesses
correctly which side it's on."
Smilin' Carl Stuckless advises
Branch 540's 3rd annual fish fry is
in the offing. Now its Up to the
energetic smelt fishermen to
come up with the fish. If you have
more than you can use just drop
them off at Branch 540 and
Smilin' Carl will look after them
and when we get enough all
members will be advised of the
date and time through the
medium of Comments. We have a
real great evenings enjoyment -
keep up the good work smelters

that one.)
