Good Friday marked by Services
At a three hour service in the
Pentecostal Holiness Church
Good Friday six speakers
brought the message of The
Seven Words from the- Cross,
interspersed with special music.
A busload of visitors, plus several
carloads, came from Chatham
for the services, Supper was
served by the members of the
W.A.
Rev. Ronald Donovan, of
Chatham, was the guest speaker
and special music celebrated the
festival of Life.
Special music was featured at
the Sunday morning service at
the Pentecostal Holiness Church
when the quintette sang and Lisa
Compton and Lynn Butler played
accordion duets. Marlene Butler
sang The Holy City and Roger
Mason and Bill Cochrane led in
the service of song.
Rev. Ray Brewster spoke from
Mark 16 "The Reason for
Calvary", stating that it was for
our redemption to permit us to
have a more personal association
with the Lord.
The evening service was one of
spiritual blessing, during which
Rev. Brewster sang a solo and
Bill Cochrane again led in
singing,

After a few minutes, Councillor
Bruce Shaw asked that the vote
be taken again, noting there had
been some confusion, as
evidenced by the fact Boyle had
voted against his own motion.
Mayor Delbridge agreed to
another vote, which passed with
only Councillors Hoogenboom
and MacMillan opposing.
Councillor Simpson abstained.
