More windows broken.

Windows continue to be broken
in a series of vandalism which
has hit Exeter in recent weeks.
At about 9 p.Tit, Monday a
window in the new Cuter Post
Office which is being constructed
at the corner of Sanders and
Andrew streets was shattered.
One of the workmen Gordon
Robinson heard the window
break and saw two youths run-
ning from the scene, He .followed
them, to the vicinity of the high
school where they disappeared,
Later in the evening, Constable
Georco Robertson found the two
hiding in the bleachers of the
grandstand .4 t Exeter Com-
munity Park.
They were returned to the
police office and their parents
notified. Charges are pending.
Wednesday a window at
Precious Blood Separate School,
valued at $10 .was, broken. Con-
stable O'Driscoll is investigating.
The person responsible for
breaking a window at Avco
Financial Services a week.earlier
has been charged with mischief
and will 4ppe4r in court at a later
date.

The Easter meeting of Brinsley
U.C.W. was held at the home of
Mrs. Marjorie Steeper. A short
worship was given by Mrs.
SteePer..Mrs.George Lee read the
scripture.
Mrs.Steeperand Mrs. Lee gave
readings 'They took Jesus Away',
followed by a poem 'Supposed'.
Mrs. Wes Watson took as her
topic, 'Is this Man too Good to be
True?'
Mrs. Lee took over for the
business. Roll call was answered
by nine members. Members were
invited to Regional Rally to be
held at Lucan May 15.
Group III ladies served lunch.

The Vanastra recreation area
will be formed at Vanastra if the
Ontario Municipal Board will
approve the project.
Eleven residents presented a
petition to members of
Tuckersmith Council at a
meeting Tuesday. The petition
bears 96 names or 79 percent of
the names of registered
property owners a tVanas tra and
requests that Tuckersmith set up
the recreation area.
The go ahead was made when
Keith Coombes of Egmondville
ipade the motion to accept the
petition and this was seconded by
Vince Fowlie of Vanastra. Clerk
James MacIntosh was authorized
to prepare the necessary bylaw.
Dick Leahnen was spokesman
for the group, and outlined the
proposal. The bylaw will state
that the petitioners will support
the proposed project with taxes
levied against their respective
property.
The bylaw will authorize the
appointment by council of
members to the community
centre board consisting of 2
members of Tuckersmith
council (Reeve plus one ccitiii1,1
cillor) and five area residents

area residents and the clerk will
contact them to see if they will

finance the project by debenture
sales of $130,000.00 payable in 20
years. Capital expenditures are
expected to be $163,012.00.
A community hall and curling
rink will be purchased plus
furnishings and equipment, a
picnic pavilion will be erected,
baseball diamond will be built
and other equipment.
It is estimated that each
propertyowner atVanastra willbe
paying about $17.40 each to meet
expenses.
Mr. Leahnen outlined sources
of revenue, such as fees levied'
against those persons using the
pool, the curling rink, playing
minor hockey, hall rental com-
munity dances, tuck shop, etc.

May 1. Dog tags will be issued as
soon as they can be made.

drain met again to try and reach
an agreement whether to have
the drain opened or closed. The
