At about 9 p.Tit, Monday a window in the new Cuter Post Office which is being constructed at the corner of Sanders and Andrew streets was shattered. One of the workmen Gordon Robinson heard the window break and saw two youths run- ning from the scene, He .followed them, to the vicinity of the high school where they disappeared, Later in the evening, Constable Georco Robertson found the two hiding in the bleachers of the grandstand .4 t Exeter Com- munity Park. They were returned to the police office and their parents notified. Charges are pending. Wednesday a window at Precious Blood Separate School, valued at $10 .was, broken. A short worship was given by Mrs. SteePer..Mrs.George Lee read the scripture. Mrs.Steeperand Mrs. Lee gave readings 'They took Jesus Away', followed by a poem 'Supposed'. Eleven residents presented a petition to members of Tuckersmith Council at a meeting Tuesday. The petition bears 96 names or 79 percent of the names of registered property owners a tVanas tra and requests that Tuckersmith set up the recreation area. The go ahead was made when Keith Coombes of Egmondville ipade the motion to accept the petition and this was seconded by Vince Fowlie of Vanastra. Clerk James MacIntosh was authorized to prepare the necessary bylaw. Dick Leahnen was spokesman for the group, and outlined the proposal. The bylaw will state that the petitioners will support the proposed project with taxes levied against their respective property. The bylaw will authorize the appointment by council of members to the community centre board consisting of 2 members of Tuckersmith council (Reeve plus one ccitiii1,1 cillor) and five area residents , .- The council named the five area residents and the clerk will contact them to see if they will Friday in St. Thomas.
