extra training. It is expected
Colonel Knox of London will be
the inspecting officer and to add
to the occasion the R.C.R. band
will be supplying the music.
This will be a family day so
plan to attend. But more about
this in a later Comments as this
parade is still in the planning
stage and much depends on the
arrival of the cadet uniforms
which incidentally are on order
and should be arriving at any
time. Sounds really exciting — so
be sure to make it a point to at-
tend,
The District A convention is
now history, however here are a
few highlights — May 31 will be
the deadline for the acceptance of
applications for a Legion Bursary
at Provincial Command.
Application forms can be ob-
tained from the office at all
Secondary Schools.
Legion Bursaries are awarded
for need and not scholastic
standings. We are pleased and
proud to advise the Ladies

10 bursaries and to add to its total
District A is making 4 additional
bursaries available for a total of
14 each valued at $500.00.
The date of the fall convention
has been set for October 19 and 20
at St. Thomas and these
Comrades have committed
themselves by stating it will be
bigger and the best — believe me
that is going to be some chore,
The date of the 1975 Provincial
Convention in Kingston has been
set for May 18 to 21.
The Poppy chairman advised
the sale of lapel poppies in 1973
increased by one million over
1972. District A Euchre play
downs will be held at Branch 578,
Windsor on May 20, entry fee
$8.00 a team.
A total of 337 were registered
for the convention. Unfortunately
due to inclement weather the
parade was cancelled, however
an impressive memorial service
was held in the meeting hall. A
few very deserving awards were
made — a Certificate of Merit at
District Level was presented to
Comrade Sherry Atkinson for his
work among veterans while in
charge of the D.V.A. for this
area. Unfortunately Sherry had
to retire due to poor health,
