The meeting opened with the 4-H Pledge followed by the roll call, "A Breakfast Menu which in- cludes a Whole Grain Cereal," Mrs. Wallace read an article, "Flour-Many Kinds, Many Uses." after which the sheets, All about Flour, were filled out, The girls then split into groups to make different kinds of muffins: Kathy Douglas, Teresa Wallace and Bonnie Norris made Surprise Muffins; Gail Harburn and Mrs, Wallace made Raisin Spice Muffins; Cheryl Riley, Betty Anne Miller and Margaret Laing made Cheese muffins; and ADAMS Heating & Cooling • Heating Systems of All Types INSTALLED, MODERNIZED and MAINTAINED • General Sheet Metal Work • Air Condifibh'ihg • Humidifiers • Ventilation 235-2187 133 Huron St. East, Exeter Julie Anne Elliott and Mrs. Douglas made Banana Muffins. On their trip they spent some time in Florida, going as far as Miami, and also visited Chattanooga, Tennessee. Their daughter, Bonnie, also arrived home last week, having spent two weeks in Hawaii. Mrs. Jean Carey is sporting a lovely tan following her week's vacation in Acapulco, Mexico, One of the things she noticed while there was that the only place one paid the price on a label was in the supermarket. In the common shops one had to ask the price and then barter it down to a reasonable amount. During the time Mrs, Carey was there, the weather was ideal if one was careful not to get sunburned. Unfortunately one of the girls in the group fell asleep in the sun and was hospitalized with second degree burns. Mrs. Gordon Laing, Mrs. Filmer Chappel, Mrs. Malcolm Lamond, Mrs. Mervin Nairn, Mrs. Calvin Christie, and Mrs. Carter Kerslake were among the ladies who took the Kirkton Horticulture Society's bus trip to the Flower Show at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto on Friday. Gordon Laing attended„„the Wheat Producer's Convention in Toronto on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Eldon Allen and her sister, Mrs. Lorne Doupe of Science Hill, visited last week with Mr. Murray Doupe of Bramalea and attended the Flower Show at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Chessell and Brian of Varna visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Laing. i gt 4' 51-A 811 ' ft I 0 hi ▪ 4/ St Si 'ea ,115 51 55'5 a V 5 ti A Great Buy! by ' Bigelow CASH & CARRY Fresh Start 95 SQ.
