in playoffs .
Exeter's three minor teams
participating in Shamrock league
round robin playoffs met Lam-
beth in a Wednesday tripleheader
at the Exeter arena.
The Exeter pee wees won their
game 2-1 while 'the bantam and
midgets games ended in ties.
A goal by David Bogart on an
unassisted play with only 40
seconds remaining in the third
period gave the Exeter pee wees
their 2-1 Wednesday win over
Lambeth.
The other goal for Exeter came
from the stick of Danny Bell mita(
pass'from Jeff Fuller' early in till
first period. ' '4
In the bantam contest, Wed-
nesday, Perry Pooldy's suc-
cessful unassisted effort with less
than a minute to go in the game
gave Exeter a 4-4 tie with
Lambeth.
Exeter took a 2-1 first period
lead on goals by Steve Baynham
and Perry Pooley. The only local
marker in the middle frame was
shot by Paul Pooley.
The outcome of the midget
game was also decided in the last
minute of play. This time it was
Lambeth scoring to gain a 3-3 tie.
Scoring for Exeter were John
Van Gerwen, Doug Osgood and
Randy Regier.

league with only the Michigan
Patriots being left out in the cold,
The Stratford Perths will meet
the Bothwell Barons, the Durham
Huskies take on the New Ham-
burg Screaming Eagles, the
Lucan-Ilderton Jets face the
London Kings and the Preston
Jesters meet the Woodstock
Royals in identical best-of-seven
series,
Stratford and Durham finished
in a tie for first place but. the
Perths were given the top spot
because of a better goals
average.
The L-I Jets-London Kings
series starts at the Ilderton arena
Sunday night at 7.30 p.m. with the
second game in Lambeth
Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
The Jets wound up the regular
season on a losing note. They
were defeated 6-4 in Woodstock
Friday night and suffered a 5-2
setback Sunday at the hands of
the Durham Huskies.
Fall behind early
In Durham Sunday, the
Huskies scored the first goal of
the game in less than three
minutes and they were never
headed.
Mayo Pacquette and Chuck
.Niesen counted for the Huskies in
the opening session while
Jacques Cousineau replied for
the Jets as he banged in his own
rebound after taking a pass from
Jack Nairn.,
In the second period Durham
took a commanding lead on goals
by Don Vipons, Drew Haldane
and Gary Sproule.
The final Jets marker came
with only a,minute to go in the
third period, Jacques Cousineau
registered on a power play with
passing help from Jack Nairn
And° Jamie Robb.
Durham also led in the penalty
parade taking 12 of the 16 in-
fractions called.
In Woodstock Friday, the
Royals jumped into an early 3-0
lead and although the Jets _did
come back on even terms early in
Dark Angels
back in front
A perfect five pOint per-
formance Friday night enabled
the Dark Angels to move into
undisputed ,possession of first
place in the Exeter Legion mixed
dart league with 72 points.
The Dart Sharks were able to
come up with four points and now
hold down second spot only a
single point behind the leaders.
Jake Lindenfield leads the
male darters with a high single
score of 170.

Tire edged Usborne township 5-3
and Les Pines swamped the
senior Hawks by an 11-6 score,
Bob Jones scored three times to
pace the Newby Tire while Bob
MacDonald hit the mark on two
occasions.
Counting in single fashion for
Usborne were Murray Parsons,
Larry Skinner and Al Hern,
Paul Mason and George
Bruneau each scored a hat trick
to lead the Les Pines scoring
attack against the senior Hawks.
Next in line with two goals was
Bill Farquhar while Don Camp-
bell, Tim Ewert and Al Rimmer
each scored single markers.
Rick McDonald with two
successful shots was best for the
Hawks. Getting one goal apiece
were Ron Lindenfield, John
Hayman, Dennis Bierling and
Allan Knight.
