met March 4 with all members
Kinette plan
shut-in visit
The Hensall Kinette Club are
planning to visit the shut-ins at
Eastertime and also are planning
a spring rummage sale, Fiddlers
Contest booth, and a Spring Fair
booth. A baby sitting course has
been started.

for The March of Dimes was a
success.
Donations were given for the
Firemen's resuscitator, to War
Memorial Hospital, to Hensall
Girl Guides and to Mental Health.
Plans are being made for a
grocery shopping spree for
Easter, and cook books are going
to be compiled to sell at a later
date.

Robert Baker, Chairman of the
Parks Board, presented the
budget of the Recreational
Committee which was approved.
He outlined the steps taken
regarding renovations to the
arena. He has secured co-
operition from the Agricultural
Society.
In order to secure a loan, the
first contact will be made with
the Ontario Minister of
Agriculture and Food and if
approval is received the federal
government will be asked for a
loan.
The, street committee had no
report. Mr. Davis reported new
signs erected and will need
materials to fill holes in the
roads. Mr. Davis will contact
Frank Forrest to work while he is
in hospital for surgery April 2,
The clerk received word that the
water in Hensall was good.
A thank you for the plaque
given to firemen was received
from Bill Mickle who was unable
to attend the ceremony.
The clerk will attend a meeting
March 0 which will instruct
clerks and treasurers about the
1974 Stablization Grant
Requirements.
A letter was received inquiring
if there were any zoning by-laws
that would prevent a railway
siding being connected with
Bendix.
Application for a road subsidy
of $1,500 snow removal and $4,000
maintenance will be made.
A building permit was given to
D. C. Joynt to construct an of-
fice in his building. Accounts
amounting to $4,337.88 were
ordered paid.
Dog tags for 1974 are now
available.

New guides
enrolled
A Guide enrolment was held
Tuesday evening in the
Fellowship Hall of Hensall United
Church: Guide Becky Baker
welcomed everyone.
Guide Captain Shirley Luther
said a few words on the ups and
downs of guiding.
Mrs. Lavender introduced the
Division Commissioner Mrs.
Louella Nash from St. Marys, who
enrolled eleven new girls into the
1st Hensel! Guide Company. The
girls were Becky Baker, Marilyn
Pepper, Vicki Mann, Anna Marie
Duffy, Debbie Reid, Laurie
Pepper, Sandra Nixon, Linda
Gerstenkorn, Sandra Dixon,
Tammy Turner and Donna Jean
Allen. Lori Flynn and Cindy
Craine were absent and are to be
enrolled at a later date.

thanks to retiring Brown Owl Pat
Venner and Vicki Mann
